I had a specific and challenging build in mind when I contacted BM Custom Closet and Cabinets. I needed a kitchen island with a quartz countertop that would allow us to slide out an existing glass dining table (between half-width to full width as needed) from its back end. Several Toronto kitchen designers either said it couldn’t be done at all, or required too long of a timeline, or gave unaffordable estimates. None came to see the space in person.

Mazi came shortly after I reached out, to see the space and discuss possibilities. Like me, he was intrigued by the problem and became dedicated to helping me solve it. We spent hours discussing how to engineer a stable structure that would support the long, heavy stone counter, keep the weight off the glass table top, contain all the functional drawers and open shelving we needed, and look good. We also added a side cabinet with a slide-out garbage and recycling solution, and all new handles.

Within weeks, the vision was brought to reality. I was kept informed every step of the way, and given the opportunity to provide a ton of input and feedback to make sure I was happy with the end result. The project was completed on time, on budget, and we are thrilled with the finished piece.

I’ve worked with many contractors who don’t want to think deeply about the best way to build something, or take pride in the quality of their work. Mazi is not that person - it was a pleasure to work with him on what would have otherwise been a stressful project, and I’m looking forward to future projects with BM Custom Closet and Cabinets.

We contacted Mazi for a desk in our daughter’s room. We had a good idea of what we wanted but Mazi took the time to finalize our design and size the unit perfectly. The desk was produced rapidly and the installation was seamless and very professional. They covered the hardwood floors with blankets, carried the heavy stone top to the second floor without damaging anything and continuously vacuumed the workspace to minimize the dust.
