When I took possession of the condo, Catalyst was going through personnel changes and were frankly awful. Once the changes took place, they did respond to address all of my concerns. At this point I thought they had improved. I went a long period of time without requiring any assistance, but when I was in the process of moving out, I did need assistance and their support went back to being very poor.

First, all of their phone #'s lead to voicemail including their emergency line. Them returning the call from the voicemail ranged from 1 hour to 2 days. Overall, not very useful if you get locked out, which with my building, the front door to the keypad call system would be locked after midnight till 6am. Causing quite an issue for me one time when I left for work at 530 and forgot my keys in the building.

On several occasions, I exchanged emails with them where it was very obvious that they did not read the email and sent back some generic response addressing none of the questions I had asked. Email return times mostly ranged from 2 to 6 days and one time it took 14 days to get a response.

A bunch of vehicles had their windows smashed. I spoke to someone to about cleaning the glass in the parking lot, they said they would and when I returned at the end of the day, the glass was still there. I moved it out of my stall and assume that the glass is likely still where I left it.

If you need something from them. You are best to physically go to their office.

It seemed that most things I actually needed help with, they would just direct me to the board members. The board members were amazing and always responsive. But the key thing is, Catalyst gets paid a lot of money to manage the property and I cannot say that during my 3-4 year stay under their management, they did one redeemable thing of value for me.

In terms of actual usefulness alone of this company, they are useless. I think Condo boards would be better off hiring an accounting firm to do the numbers on a per use fee rate rather than consistently paying a company to virtually do nothing.

Would avoid any and all buildings managed by Catalyst. Hope this helps potential buyers/renters.

It is annoying that you can respond to me but I cannot respond to you. You continue to list generic mission and value statements in your response and you refer to one email that paints a positive image of your duties but fail to list the one that displays the negative aspects I speak of. Your response to this review was generally quicker than your responses to emails which in itself shows your priorities. I continue to state that I am thankful that I no longer live in a Catalyst building and hope other consumers do not fall for their classic BS responses to their low reviews.

Absolutely terrible service, it's one thing for the elevator to be broken for over a month it is another thing for you to be the one following up with the property management company without them fulfilling their commitments. I have spoken to several members of the team including Hamza, Desiree and now Omair to name a few which Omair committed to a follow up a call with me to no avail, the lack of professionalism from the property management with regards to the initiative or lack thereof to follow up on urgent matters is quite alarming for a supposed 'reputable' company. It is disturbing that you are told one thing and then something completely different and this lack of consistency in terms of quality of service and communication would deter me from relying on this property management company going forward, I do hope things change for the betterment when it comes to taking ownership of matters like this going forward.

Very pleased with the quick and courteous response from Ayyan at Catalyst, in response to concerns I'd raised on behalf of our commercial tenants with a contractor's snow removal services. Catalyst was prompt in acknowledging our concerns and more importantly, ensuring the contractor fulfilled its obligations in a timely and satisfactory manner. Great customer service!

Garage opener does not work. Requested them for a new one. They told they will arrange a new one. But even after waiting for 2 weeks there was no update from their side and so had to contact Truman service team and received one immediately. Still I have not received an update from Catalyst. They are also very slow to respond to emails. Have to call them for a response. Now i am following up with them for delivery/intercom access. Awaiting response. It is day 19 at the condo and i have to go down every time to let someone in.

We filled out the form and paid 150 bucks for moving in and you guys don't have any info? You guys never answer calls or emails. Every call ends up in the voicemail.

Fires, vomit, vandalism and more! All if you live in a catalyst managed building.

Here at my building the staircases have never been cleaned since the building opened in June. We had a fire in July and the first floor has been a construction zone since then. We’ve had vomit and blood in the stairs for weeks! The vandalism is rampant but apparently it wasn’t in the budget to get any security cameras. Not to mention our elevator has been broken for weeks and they are trying to pin the blame on the residents for putting garbage in the pit? Not sure how you would do that if the elevator is door won’t open.

All in all if you like constant garbage, an incompetent management team, constant construction and vandalism then choose a catalyst rental!

EDITED TO RESPOND TO CATALYST

While I do acknowledge that catalyst is not responsible for who is in the building they are responsible for the building its self. That means you are responsible to recruit staff who are capable of doing their jobs correctly. You are responsible to clean the building adequately, not ignoring garbage, moping when necessary, checking all floors of the building, etc. It also means that you need to address concerns that happen within the building in a reasonable time.

While I understand that certain requests need to be brought forward to the ‘condo board’ I find it hard to believe that a solution or at least some sort of communication has not happened in 7 months. A better solution than “wait patiently and tattle on your neighbours” is not an effective solution. You get paid to maintain order in the building BY US so don’t make it our responsibility.

Finally in response to your comment about the timelines, there has been more than 1 vomit incident. The one on Friday was just the most recent. I was happy to see that the blood was finally noticed and cleaned up though!
