Malheureusement c la pire expérience que j ai vécu pendant toute ma vie .. immeuble et appartement plein des souris on appel mais pas de solution et mille fois pas de réponse de la part de < Mu > c triste de payer un loyer cher et tu trouve plein des défauts et pas de feed-back de la part du manager ou bien la société… étoile et beaucoup pour vous .

Time to show some appreciation for the team that looks after 1214 - 14th Street SW. Our new manager, Kevin, along with his recent predecessor, are both wonderful. Positive, responsive, proactive and kind. Thanks also to the building staff who work diligently to keep the inside common areas clean, and to the hard working snow maintenance crew who do the same outside. Thank you for making my 3+ year residency here wonderful. You are all appreciated.

Saying they are Slumlords would be putting it lightly..... But I have had so many health standard problems with this unit from initial move in day (not cleaned at all, had to get professional cleaning in and then no one got back to me). Last two years we have had huge wasp nests under our deck, and mice accessing our kitchen through a large hole never sealed under the sink. We are being blamed for having an unclean unit because I reported them to the public health inspector for unsanitary conditions. Public health did not have any indication on the report of our unsanitary conditions, mainstreet was only mentioned for failure to seal holes and house droppings under sink. Yesterday three Main Street employees showed up at our unit when my wife and kids are off due to being sick. Landlord never replied back to me they were showing up so we assumed no entry. There was also no indication that anyone other then pest control would be here until 10am only (never showed up) but mainstreet three employees show up at 1:40pm unannounced. My wife let them in because she thought they were the professional pest control team and they proceeded to ridicule her (in the midst of cleaning) that the place was unclean. My kids having lunch on the couch and were told "thats not allowed". So now mainstreet is trying to blame us that unclean conditions resulted in mice. Our place is clean beyond reasonable standard of cleanliness. Also mice have been reported for years in units on both sides or below of us. Mainstreet threatened my wife they would enter un announced for a surprise visit to do an inspection. Additional clean inspections are not in the lease between move in and out, and there is no clause to keep the unit in pre move in condition during the entire tenancy. I took photos of the condition but they trashed our kitchen and then left. Last night we got a notice they would be doing a clean inspection with no time indication. But I have started RTDrS application because this is just the tip of the problems we have encountered every month since move in.

NEVER rent from Mainstreet! My friends have been living in a couple different units in one of their buildings and have been dealing with an infestation of mice and no one at Mainstreet will do anything. There are a constant parade of homeless people getting into the building pissing and shitting everywhere they damage your cars and they change the locks to the building and don’t tell the residents so you can’t get into the building. Your human rights do not matter at Mainstreet all they care about is getting your rent money. I have advised my friends living there to call 811 to report the infestation to Alberta health service so they can start an investigation and told them it might be a good idea to contact a lawyer as one of my friends has gotten quite sick from all this. Again people stay away from Mainstreet there are so many better owned apartment buildings that will make sure you are taken care of.

Dont ever rent from this place slumlords is putting it lightly.

Unit has needed many repairs for months now building manager both day that it doesn't need repair. Anytime a repair can happen only had one so far they never give an ETA when it's gonna get done.

Any problems you raise to them they can just say no we're not doing anything about that.

They never shovel the sidewalks or salt or anything.

Did some work around the unit asked how I could get reimbursed anytime I ask questions like this I just get ignored like I don't matter.

I pay a good deal of rent a month I should at least be able to get the building manager to do the absolute bare minimum like fixing weather stripping In unit or why there is a vent that let's in a ton of cool air in the winter.

If you are considering renting with Mainstreet read bellow first.

1. When you sign the lease, DO NOT give your real phone number,email or address. Reason is outlined in latter points.
2. They Never give your deposit back. Make sure you don't pay your last month rent and cancel your bank account so they cant charge you anymore.
3. When you are moving never give your moving address. They will use it to send you unsolicited request for money.
4. Don't pay electricity bill for last month. make sure you close your bank account.
5. Once you move out they will report you to their internal collection agency for no reason. so make sure you change your phone number or not to answer unknown calls.

I put this point because no matter how good you are they will try to keep the deposit. Read the other comments. you will realize it yourself. Make your own arrangement to avoid losses from this con artists. Its a SCAM.

Few other notes if you decide to rent anyways
1. You will be accommodated with bed bugs. Every apartment they have has bed bugs.
2. Keep an eye for reverse rent payment which already deducted from your bank account. If you do not acknowledge the reversal they will charge you a $50 late payment. this is a neat trick they play on December to get a Christmas bonus for themselves.
3. Don't drink tap water. It has high level of residue and fluoride. they never clean the reserve tank.
4. get ready to be with a crazy neighbor who make noise all the time.

My advice is, don't even let your enemy to rent from them.
