I originally left Randal house with a 5 star review, primarily due to the efforts of Marilyn, the then building manager. She was the reason things got done and why the place stayed so clean. There were countless times she would be working weekends and covering for others who were not fulfilling their duties. The care she put into the place was always evident and I appreciated the level of care she invested.

Since I left, it seems that Marilyn was let go, probably for speaking her mind and holding others to the same high standard with which she held herself and the building. The building won an excellence award as a direct result of her efforts, while I was there.

Boardwalk has shown how they treat employees who go above and beyond for them. Noted.

My experience visiting Marilyn's office for an apartment viewing appointment was incredibly positive. Marilyn not only showed me the apartment I was interested in but also highlighted all the amenities available. Her dedication to maintaining the building was evident through its impeccable cleanliness and organization. Additionally, Marilyn went above and beyond by assisting me in connecting with other Boardwalk properties that suited my needs perfectly.

2nd Edit:

I can honestly say I’ve never seen this building look so dirty! Gone are the days when the old manager took pride in the building and would often pick up a mob & bucket and clean the place. The new manager hardly ventures out of the office (the door is shut most of the time) let alone clean up. Just goes to show how important a good manager is to a building, I’m so glad I’m leaving soon.

Edit:

It’s been a few weeks since the former site manager was removed so it’s enough time to revisit my thoughts on the changes.

The building is now left long periods without any on site management. When anyone does appear they are unfriendly and rarely interact with the residents. None of them have introduced themselves. We occasionally get a cleaner but he does the minimum and the building is now looking dirty and unkempt. The laundry room is always a mess and the elevators are a disgrace most of the time.

It’s very unlikely I’ll renew my lease here or with any other BW property. I was happy here for the two years prior when the building was run in a different way but standards have certainly fallen drastically, unlike the rents which continue to rise while services fall.

Shame on you Broadwalk, giving former site manager Marilyn (a senior) just 7 days to vacate her an apartment effectively putting her out on the street. The amount of time she gave to your company looking after the tenants and keeping the building clean Marilyn deserved better treatment. Who’s going to clean the building now because let’s face it Broadwalk hardly ever send cleaners. We can go a week or more without one, when they do turn up they hardly stay for an hour or two. The tall guy who was Marilyn’s boss already has many other building to run so the out look for this building is not looking good. Personally I wouldn’t rent here given the sharp increases in rent and the lowering of services by Broadwalk.

Edit: boardwalk has since given her one month to pack her stuff and find a new place.

This building use to be ran by the sweetest and most caring woman IN THE WORLD. Who not only treated tenants like HUMAN BEINGS she treated her tenants like FAMILY and cared for the ENTIRE building as if it was her own.

Boardwalk randomly fired this sweet little old lady from her position as building manager and gave her SEVEN days to pack up her home AND find a place to live. So not only is this sweet angel lady out of a job she’s also soon to be homeless.

SHAME ON YOU BOARDWALK.

I can't fully express how grateful I am to have met the Residence Manager, Marilyn. She is the real-life wonder woman, who literally moved mountains to not only help find me a suite at Randal House but also to make my move-in way smoother than I had anticipated. Once I moved in, she generously offered me furniture (that previous tenants left behind; but I needed) and other useful items. She is also a very sincere and dedicated Residence Manager who handles any issue with a response - "I will make it work". Marilyn has been nothing short of a blessing to me. To future tenants and those on waitlist - if you're lucky enough to find a suite at Randal House, the building is well maintained, kept clean and is a quiet, peaceful home. I'm happy to be here! Thank you.

Randal House is a great place to live.
The manager Marilyn is just the sweetest person, on top of everything, and will go out of her way to help you with whatever you need. She decorates for commemorative dates and and gives tenants Christmas cards, not to mention the cutest outfits for these special dates. Everyone else working there is very polite: maintenance, cleaning, security.
The location is hard to beat. I loved having 17Ave a few steps away. The building is clean and safe. I never had any issues.

We are celebrating one-year anniversary of renting at Randall House and this place is great due to the hard work of the building’s Management Team.
During this time, we got to know our Resident Manager Marilyn more closely and our first great impression on how very responsive she is to all requests/questions has not failed. In addition to it and it may be a little detail, but every time we see her, we are extremely pleased with her professional attitude and appearance - she is ALWAYS dressed appropriately for professional business settings. Her personality is amazing – kind, friendly, cooperative and polite. She is not just keeping this building clean and in a great shape but she adds warmth of her personality to the place making it feeling like HOME either by placing decorations for Holidays in a lobby AND on EACH floor or bringing to our doors “in-person” greetings. We feel LOVED at Randall House. Thank you, Marilyn!
