My husband and I purchased our home through excel homes. They use kings woods for all cabinets, their quality is total crap, it is legitimate garbage. I have been fighting with excel to have kingswood change out my cabinets 3 months and no results…. Calgary housing has better quality of cabinets than this place. The staff are absolutely obnoxious to deal with, so rude and disrespectful. If I could give them a 0 star I would. If you can avoid using them you will save yourself lots of headaches. I am suffering from so much stress seeing my house have such horrible cabinets, it’s a brand new home and it looks old because of these horrible cabinets.

Purchased a home last year through Cedarglen homes and the kitchen cabinets were from Kingswood Cabinets.

Trades scratched them after installation and Kingswood had to replace them. The issue is that they’ve changed the paint over the year and our panels have a colour mismatch. The quality is poor because every time they would bring the replacement panels, there were issues and only 50% of them were useable. It’s taken them close to 20 visits to replace all of our black panels. We do appreciate them for replacing them so that’s why we are giving them a 2/5 instead of 1/5.
There really isn’t any proper quality control.
We recommend picking up the panels in person and not have then wrapped with plastic since it was smudging the paint.

Oh and I forgot to mention that our crown and riser seems to be 'melting' or leaking some type of oil. We will clean it and a few months later, it comes back. It's the weirdest thing ever.

I was going to write a more detailed review but am so tired of dealing with Kingswood that I’ll leave these photos for your review.

When your delivery teams drops off the cabinets. Make sure they put up the fence and secure the open excavation site after they are finished. Finding it down when i get to site is UNACCEPTABLE! There are children in the community and it's also a 20k fine for leaving an open excavation site wide open. I'm sure your company doesn't want to pay that fine. It's also more work for myself to put up alone. Please educate your employees. Thanks.

This product “takes the cake”; by far the WORST cabinets! The matte coated cabinets are IMPOSSIBLE to clean. I’ve tried every household product I can think of. Morrison (the subpar home builder who chose this supplier) recommended pure dish soap as a cleaning agent. Even that doesn’t quite do the trick. Do NOT purchase the matte cabinet finish from Kingswood. You will regret it 100%. The finish is incredibly absorptive - when you put cleaning products on, it just soaks it up; this explains why the residue on your fingers is so quick and easy to transfer. Terrible product.

We were forced to use Kingswood as our builder switched to them half way through our build, and our only option at the time was to pick the colour. Looking at the construction I had some concerns due to the the door faces being nothing but painted MDF. Needless to say 5 years later the faces have held up worse than Ikea cabinets. Because the edges are soft raw MDF anytime an item shifts in your drawer it poses the risk of chipping or denting the door face. Needless to say, after 5 years our pot and pan door and utility drawers are in need of replacement they are so damaged. For the money you are going spend on kitchen cabinets I would look elsewhere. Even our ikea kitchens have weather kids and regular abuse better than these.

Me and my wife purchased our first home and we’re very happy to be picking out all the details. When it came to cupboards our builder was using kings wood cabinets. We actually paid to upgrade to their shaker cupboard (top of the line from our builder) hoping it would withstand everyday use better. It’s been fading really fast, it’s actually chipped off of one panel and they didn’t even come fully finished to begin with… a lot have white seems running through the crevasses. It’s very unappealing in our black cupboards. The best part is I reached out almost a year ago to get it fixed while my new house was still on warranty and all I got back was sorry we’re not taking on new projects… it’s been a terrible experience from kings wood cabinets and there staff.

They were the supplier of cabinets when our house was built, they did a nice job and after 5 years it still looks great. Only thing I wish I could have paid for was higher quality lacquer on the cabinets... But that was controlled by the builder not Kingswood, so not a knock against them. Either way I'll use them again.
