So on Monday morning I had to stop and pick up a few things that I had forgotten at home before proceeding with the balance of my trip. I fine young gentleman from Pharmacy names Manish went out of his way to help me. I was very appreciative of his efforts and his commutation with the others. This store needs more employees like this young man! Thank you

This is actually a review of the SHOPPERS DRUG MART ADMINISTRATION out east. P

Please READ and change something! ESPECIALLY because it's only going to get busier at your stores in the coming weeks!

We had to return an ONLINE Shoppers order here (product was all going bad from being past their dates -- 3 body sprays). Was instructed online to return to any Shoppers store because of the mail strike. *

The first young lady outright said they couldn't take our return because they didn't sell it there. When we explained the above, she said she'd have to check with her manager, even after I explained that when I tried to return them a week before in ANOTHER town (but I forgot to bring the debit card with which they were bought -- stupid of me*) they discovered that even though they didn't sell them in their store, they could easily scan them on their till. BUT, all of that was after a big runaround and THREE different managers had to be called. *Like I said above, in the end I couldn't return them at that time. But the ladies who worked there were exceptional!

** [Additional note: We brought them back in their original shipping box and packaging, plus the strip of peelable labels that had all the order info and the mailing label - I'm guessing for the eventual return of these items to the east coast once mail services resumed- so this store could get their money back for reimbursing us. The above are the complete instructions we received online and after calling about how to return these spoiled items. Additionally my daughter also shared about finding online at least one other online customer that found her items identical to ours that spoiled soon after she received them.]

The manager came. She was unaware of the return process or that it would even be possible. So we shared all of the above info. She said she'd have to check (again), and disappeared to the back. She finally returned and easily scanned the products and reimbursed the debit card.

These two young ladies were also exceptional and respectful, (hence the 1 star), but this review is really about our frustration: WHY the HECK hasn't Shopper's Head Office / Administration let the big and little stores all around Canada know the routine for returns now with the postal strike in effect? Don't you all use emails to communicate?

I usually love this pharmacy and store but today, unfortunately, I raised my voice in frustration. My fiance went into the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions as I was feeling too weak and nauseated to leave the car. After he paid for pills, he was told curtly that I wasn’t going to get my meds unless I came in to speak to the pharmacist. He told them I walk with a walker and it might be hard for me. The staff person insisted that my pills would not be released to me even though they’d taken my money. There was no new medication and no need to demand that I see the pharmacist at exactly that moment. I was nauseated, dizzy and not willing to go into the store. I called and spoke to a new-ish pharmacist and told him they would have to hold my pills. I was distraught and sick. I was told I could have my pills. When my fiance went back in to get my pills, the woman said “well she didn’t have to yell.” I didn’t yell. I was a little louder than normal while I was searching for a plastic bag in which I could throw up.
A simple request instead of a demand would have been nice.

After I pay for a prescription I am told “the pharmacist would like to speak to me” before they are handed over. This is the last time I will be publicly asked invasive questions as I will be transferring.

Needed travel vaccines and they spent significant time walking me through the options and tailored it for my specific needs. Amazing customer service.

I came in to the pharmacy a few days ago, and on top of the pharmacy not stocking what I specifically required, I was told it would be a half hour wait for what was essentially an 'over the counter' purchase. They could have given me what I needed but I had to wait a half hour, but I ended up waiting over 45 minutes until someone noticed me and remembered to complete my purchase. Just felt like I was forgotten about. People came in and got their prescriptions and left before I was able to leave. I understand it takes time to fill pills and I thought that was what was happening here, but the bottle they gave me was the same bottle with a label on it. Took them 45 minutes to add a label on.

There was a very nice lady who helped me complete some passport photos and the pharmacist who ended up giving me the directives (eventually) was polite.
