Very well organized thrift store that has a wide selection of quality used goods including clothing, books, DVDs Etc. The staff are very helpful and community-minded haven't given back over 3 million dollars to the community since the store opened

I shop here frequently. I usually get books, and clothing. But I have also picked up either fabric or blankets (needed a fleece material), and one time I also got a theater style popcorn maker for $10. They always have the best prices. Usually $1 for most clothing items (like shirts, and jeans), $3ish dollars for shoes (I've picked up a few of these), $0.50 for paperback books, $1 for most hardcovers. I love shopping here and I understand why they are only open 2 days a week for a few hours. This store is run by volunteers and unfortunately they can only do it a couple days a week. But that's okay.

This last fall I decided I wanted to hand out both candy and free books for the Trick r' Treaters for Halloween. I made several stops at the Next to New to stock up on kids friendly books for reading ages of 0+ to pre-teen. I found so many amazing books. I had posted on Facebook what I was doing and had parents sending me messages thanking me for handing out something other than candy. I did tell them that I was still handing out candy, but would also be handing out free books for the kids. Some of the parents asked when I would be out and set up so that they could get to my place early. I ended up having 20 kids (previous years we would get 3-6 kids, our street doesn't really participate in Halloween, there are a few houses on our street, but most don't), and had to run into the house for the "reserve candy" because I had planned for 12 kids. The vast majority of the kids really loved it. And most were confused that they could have free books. I encouraged all of them to take at least 2 books. Some only took 1 book, but there were several that 3 or 4 books. I will be stopping by later this week to start stockpiling kids books for Halloween 2025. I cannot thank the Next to New enough. They enable me to help our youth grow and learn.
