We have used their services in the beginning to keep a watchful eye on them and help with small tasks such as going to the grocery store. As their health declined, we relied on the caregivers for added support at their assisted living facility. It was reassuring to have this one-on-one care for mom and dad. In their last stages of life, we used caregivers to do the overnight shift as sitters. We wanted our parents, who passed within six months of each other, to have someone with them throughout the night in case they tried to get up, etc. They were both fall risks, and we wanted to make sure they were never alone. Caring for elderly parents presents a unique challenge in everyone's life. I was especially thankful for the services of MCM in helping with this process. My parents were in need of 24/7 care and refused to move to any type of Senior Facility, for some good reasons.
