I’ve used Moody’s for incorporating two different businesses and for taxes.

They have been extremely helpful and informative when starting the companies as well as filing requirement's at year end. Tax planning with them has been great, they provide information on tax structuring through blog posts that they send and have great tax specialists.
Would recommend to anyone with an existing business looking to find a tax and law office where people show a genuine interest in the success of your business or anyone starting a new company.

I have been in business for over thirty years and recently switched over to Moody's after my son's experience with them.

Their accounting firm provides excellent tax advice for small businesses. My son and I have mostly dealt with Brandon in the accounting firm, he is very knowledgable and brings great advice for tax planning and structure for our companies and trusts. His interest in us is refreshing and shows how he cares about his clients best interests.

Now that the process is completed, I can share my household's experiences with Moodys Private Client Accounting LLP. If you are middle-class, be careful with this agency. Over the last 5 or so years, I witnessed my spouse (who was a dual US/Canadian citizen) get mediocre and overpriced service (up to $8K/return) from Moody’s representatives. Perhaps it might be the result of the main office being out of Alberta
and the time lag between their office and our home province (Ontario). I witnessed my spouse get disheartened by the process and brushed off by their representatives. My spouse had to follow up several times to ensure that her 2022 IRS final return was uploaded by the US deadline. I do not know why Moody’s chose to delay the submission until mid-November/23. The worst incident was when a Moody's representative contacted my spouse and accused her of not submitting requested data for her final 2022 US tax preparation. My spouse kept comprehensive communication records, and forwarded them back to Moody’s representatives. While a junior representative eventually fixed the oversight, his supervisors (and the senior management of that particular company portfolio) chose not to contact my spouse about the issue. A phone call or brief message acknowledging the issue would have been adequate! It appears that my spouse’s account was simply not important to Moody’s Private Client LLP. I would not use this agency again, unless I was a VERY wealthy client. That is a pity. I am relieved my spouse officially renounced her US citizenship.

As an US expat, living in Italy with an international family, I reached out to Moodys for tax support. I highly recommend the their team ... they are competent, quick and cordial.

I hired Moodys to do my Canadian and U.S. taxes, and I won't do it again.

They did a mostly-competent job, and I'm satisfied with the end product. I wasn't satisfied with the process. Summary:

1. Deadlines. I asked up front for everything to be done significantly ahead of deadlines. By March 23, I had sent them all they asked for. On May 1, I got an emergency email saying that I needed to take action before a deadline the next day, or lose money.

Later deadlines were also not well communicated, and had to be explicitly asked for. This was a constant source of stress; for this reason alone, I wouldn't employ them again.

2. Multiple, separate requests for information I'd already sent. I gather this is an issue of internal process, not an issue of competence.

3. Frustrating interactions. When I read their draft of my U.S. taxes, there was a problem. I asked about it, and got a strange response that couldn't possibly be a useful answer to my question. Resolving the issue took multiple emails, a week of radio silence, and a phone call to a manager.

For reference, the question was "Why is my health insurance in a box labelled 'insurance (other than health)'?". The initial response was, roughly, "That's just copied from your Canadian taxes."

4. Indifference. I mentioned in passing to a manager that I was frustrated and looking forward to finishing my relationship with Moodys, with no response. I followed up later; she said she was willing to discuss my frustration once the taxes were filed. Neither of us followed up, in my case because she didn't seem interested.
