I would not recommend Rick to build or construct anything for me again. His craftsmanship and skill set are very poor. He overprices his lumber. We had a shed built by him and are not impressed for the quality of work that he said that he could provide. The shed is not very square, he put a hole in the new steel roof that leaked and denied it ( I have pics of it that I sent him. There was gaps where the wall meets the roof which I had to fix. He built a 12x8 shed without framing up the walls properly so we framed them to make the shed more structural solid. He took 3-4 days longer to build the shed. He claims that he is a licensed carpenter in which I have a hard time believing. If I could provide some pictures I would.

When our old white cedar swing that we purchased from Costco 25 years ago needed to be replaced we searched the internet for a local artist/craftsman to build us a new one. We found Rick’s website (CNC Custom Wood Carving), and drove up to Combs to meet him. He seemed like a nice guy that would take pride in his work and provide us with a great quality Red Cedar 3 person swing complete with a canopy and attached side tables. It was going to be more expensive than one we could buy off the internet but we wanted to buy local.
Unfortunately the material Rick used to build our swing with was very poor quality and his “engineering” skills left much to be desired. Rick gave us a product that had chucks of wood missing, was not built square/symmetrical anywhere, and squeezed the entire time you were on the swing. Rick also used very low grade hardware which created an unsafe product to use as it would not support the weight of three adults it should have been designed for. He refused to take back his swing and build us a new higher quality one more in line with the price tag of $1,500.
I would not recommend Rick to anyone for any project.

Don't use this company if you want anything special done. I wanted a very special wood carving done on CNC router for my 25th anniversary. I dropped off the example LAST AUGUST, I kept getting told soon, soon. I'm very busy. Still was not even close to finished by JULY 04th. 11 MONTHS LATER. WORST SERVICE EVER.
Unbelievable, on this website under What we've been working on is a book made of cedar that says ME DARLING BERNICE, HAPPY 10 ANNIVESARY. Rick didn't make this, I had a company make this in Edmonton in 2007, I wanted something similar made for my 25 anniversary that is coming soon. the company in Edmonton made the book for my 10th anniversary in 3 weeks, Rick couldn't make my project in 11 MONTHS. taking credit for something he didn't make. Too bad I couldn't give 0 stars.

beautiful work, takes extra care with detail, and is willing to listen to what you are asking him to design and then adds a bit a flare to bring the carving to life.
