Horrible service - they just don't care. They charge predatory fees if you have any balance at all and will seek ways to overcharge you. If you are a home owner WATCH OUT! They are trying to rip you off. The worse company to ever enter our building. ICON is only interested in taking care of their own interests with blatant disregard for the interests of the residents in the buildings they manage. Their staff is unresponsive and unprofessional.

Management doesnât enforce basic condominium rules. Bylaw property standards are ignored as well.
Landscaping company is supposed to remove weeds from the paved areas but neglect that task.
Tree stump next door was never removed allowing hardwood ash tree shoots to grow and spread. The continuing infiltration of this tree and garbage draped appliance across from our neighbours unit has rendered their patio unusable. Manager has knowingly permitted stump and offshoots to overtake their common area for a decade.
Snow dumping occurs along one block of the property. Owners living there are forced to suffer a mountain of snow in front of their windows and doorsteps, dead lawn, dead hedge and trees, and a broken down fence in front of their units from snow damage. The snow mound is hazardous to nearby properties and prevents safe access to the pathway when leaving or entering the property from that area in winter. I have fallen twice in that area trying to leave the property.
Is there not a basic property law that states management and the board arenât permitted to make common elements look worse or allow destruction of common elements during general maintenance?
Manager doesnât send or enforce owner notices to units regarding:
-out of control weeds allowed to grow over 3 feet high
-garbage/recycling bins left outside, some overflowing with dog feces or cat litter
-old appliances, broken furniture left outside in front of peoples windows
-hoarding occurring on one of the porches with waste accumulation.
Repairs fester unattended for years thereby costing unit owners more money to repair as situation deteriorates.
Worsening decrepitude and rules allowed to be broken by some unit owners has continued unabated.
People allowed to hoard old appliances out on the side of units for years, draped in fabric to attract rodents. A disabled roommate is forced to keep their electric wheelchair outside by condo unit owners. The wheelchair is rusting from weather damage and hoarded full of junk. This sits directly in front of two of the units living room windows. The condo owners doing this donât care about offending their neighbours as their outdoor hoard continues to grow. Management does nothing.
Mice in some of the units. Large vermin boxes are put outside unit directly next to the front door so we cannot have visitors without embarrassment, resulting in further stress and social isolation.
Broken Doorbell switched out for new doorbell thatâs also broken.
Managers cronies (engineers, etc.) sent out numerous times regarding same problem; no repairs. This wastes owners time and resources.
Physician says living here has resulted in health damages. My husbands health also been negatively impacted.
This experience has cost us hours of time wasted trying to have basic property standards upheld, common elements maintained, overdue repairs done.
Is it not âdereliction of dutyâ to allow some unit owners to disregard basic condominium rules which are enacted for everyoneâs well being?
Our kitchen doors were finally replaced with new but shoddy doors with many units experiencing leaking through the glass or broken window mechanisms.
If you can afford to buy a freehold house, protect your health and finances and donât buy a condo in the Ottawa area.

CMG incorrectly sent us a notice of lien for fees we had been paying. When we contacted them to correct the issue, they refused to handle it, until they realized they were at fault, we had been paying our fees all along, and the lien was intended for another property (how does this even happen?). What kind of business threatens to place a lien on someone's home and contacts their mortgager without double checking they have the right address?
Irene and her staff agreed to provide an apology letter and "make it right", yet refused to answer questions when pressed further and said they did all they felt they could. Beware if you are considering working with CMG, they have terrible attitudes (especially their liens dept and Renee) and will put a lien on your home, even if your bills are paid, simply because they cannot read and lack common sense.

A shame. I am only owning a condo since two months and need to have my condo fees withdrawals set up. I responded to email request for paperwork to be filled out immediately. 4 1/2 weeks ago. Today I received a note in the mail I am late and if I don't pay a lean will be put on my property. I sent out emails (over 3) plus called and left messages. NOBODY, i mean, NOBODY is returning my calls. I just want this set up. Never, every, have I dealt with such incompetence.

It is a shame that this company is being allowed to treat tenants and homeowners in a really crappy fashion. For nearly 20 plus years we have lived at our and over the years the service has gone down hill and the condo fees keep increasing. And it is always some excuse for the price increase and all we get in return is crap service and threats. We have seen neighbour after neighbour leave this neighbourhood cause of the way to high fees and garbage treatment by this company. You know about 3 years ago they wanted us to spy on our fellow neighbours when it was time to put out garbage or else condo fees would go up! Companies like this are one of the big factors for homelessness in this country! Threatening liens on tenants what the hell!! Company should get zero stars shame on how they treat people!
C.C.C. #94 is now threatening to kick us out according to our mortgage company for being only one month behind on condo fees! What kind of people do this at this time of year My mother is a senior with health issues and i am disabled too so we are feeling the financial crunch along with other Canadians in similar curcumstances. Also my brother is in the forces so isn't this a lovely way to treat a Canadian Armed Forces members family. Tis the season of being generous my foot! CMG should be ashamed!

Have your condo board look elsewhere for a management company.
They hire subcontractors and do not manage them in the slightest. We are told they "hope" things will work out. I'm not sure they would have such a laissez-faire attitude if they were the ones footing the bills and living in the spaces.
I've dealt with several management companies and this one is sorely lacking in professionalism and effectiveness. If I had time to be on the board my first order of business would be to replace them.

This company's service is horrible. You can never find the property manager from email or phone. The property manager in charge of my area never responses to my emails or phone calls. They just grab the money.
UpdateïŒI got contact after leave the voicemail to Irene. She is very nice and professional. She explained the property managers may not be in the office all the time. So we should give them give to response.

This condo group manages the building my unit is in and it's been an utter headache dealing with them. My property manager is extremely slow to respond to simple questions. The buzzer to my unit has been broken for MONTHS with no attempt to fix it. My tenant had one of their packages stolen cause the buzzer doesn't work despite me emailing them and even talking to the property manager regarding this issue. Lastly, my tenant e-transfered the group $200 for an elevator deposit in Aug, we are not in OCTOBER and they still have not recieved the deposit back. This condo group is very adept at taking money and but not returning it. I have emailed the property manager and higher ups regarding these issues but they couldn't care less. Shame.
