They are scum to deal with. Now I have to sell my house I was renting out because they kept the rent money for bull shit stuff I live in the house myself for 5 years no problems. Now to them the house need to be remodeled everything was new now it all has to be replaced for some reason. They been keeping rent money for so called repairs

Our experience with Bay land properties , has been great.
They have answered all our questions and were very helpful . Although the building is run down and old and i would love to see the carpeting removed from the hallways as i think the hitch hiker bugs are travelling through them , we need to remember ,that property management is only hired by the owner. Their hands are tied ,they have to ask for approval and P.O to get things down so remember not to jump down their necks as they have to get approval first.
My Mother in law had discovered that she had bedbugs in the apartment. She called Bayland properties, and they sent her the paperwork of what needed to be done before they came in to eradicate the problem. Then my Mother landed in the hospital and everything was left to us to do in her apartment. After the first spray they let us know there was little activity ,so we purged couches and chairs to get rid of the rest ,since we had already got rid of beds and rugs. They came in to spray again and everything was clear. Property Management went above and beyond and even called my Mother in law ro see how she was doing and to remind her of the cleaning routine for the next 4 weeks. We want to Thank property management for taking our calls and questions and acting quickley in this matter .

Bayland is, without a doubt, the worst company that I've had to deal with. The property I live at used to be independently owned and the landlord sold it. The person who bought it decided to use bayland and it's nothing but one nightmare after another. They do the least amount of work possible when you report something needs to be fixed. They make your apartment look worse.

Reading another review that they responded to saying that they are allowed to increase the rent is absurd. Just because you're allowed something does not mean you have to do that something. It's a conscious choice to jeopardize our ability to continue to live. Everything else already went up in price in 2023 and adding more on top of it just stresses out everybody even more. Unless they're doing major repairs there is absolutely no reason to be increasing rent. Nothing is warranting the additional cost.

I've lived in this apartment since 2015 and only once they took over did my rent ever increase. They took over only a few years ago, during COVID.

I have the ugliest grey streaks in my shower because the cheap paneling cracked. I reported it, worried about water leaking underneath the tub and that was their fix. It was called Marine weld? I think. Instead of just properly replacing the panel.

In the winter the amount of ice that builds up shifted my door frame and the door no longer latched. Their solution to this was adding a new piece of wood that they screwed into my stair and chiseling out a hole in the wood for the door to latch into. I had to contact two more times just to get a striker plate put on the wood. And I can almost guarantee if I update this review after the winter that it will have shifted again because this doesn't fix the problem. This was just the cheapest Band-Aid.

I have a massive mouse problem that has never been dealt with. I sealed one hole but the other one is under the kitchen cabinets. I have lost knives, Tupperware, cooking accessories, utensils and more to the constant mice problem. There are times where I remove a mouse a day from the traps I had to buy.

They do absolutely no checking on people they rent to because if they did the people below me would not live here. I did one little Google search of their name and plenty of news articles came up that clearly indicate it is not somebody you want to live at your residence. They allow these people to smoke despite claiming that all of their properties are non-smoking. I've reported it at least 30 times until I was basically told not to report it anymore. It actually impacts my health. I am severely allergic to cigarettes. My breathing is diminished. All of my property smells like cigarettes now. My walls are getting yellow nicotine staining and I'm not even the one smoking!!

They continue to try to force me to pay a fee that was not disclosed to me until after the fact. I accidentally locked my key inside. Apparently they don't have a copy of the key which is highly suspicious and had to send somebody with a ladder to climb through my open bedroom window. In doing that he ruined the screen and broke my dresser drawer of which I reported neither/complained about neither. I it was willing to accept the damage as they did me a favor by opening the door. I even bought a screen replacement kit with my own money. And only after doing everything did they try to charge me a $50 fee. Pretty sure you should be telling people about the fee up front to choose if they are able to pay that because I can promise you I cannot pay it but I also will not pay it. I was not made aware of it prior to the service. Would have done it myself if I had known they would try to charge me for it. They sent the bill several months later as well.

When you contact them they are rude. Some of their employees who do the maintenance are decent people, others have quite the attitude.

I have asked for very little in the 8 years I've lived here. I try to report anything that happens to break as soon as possible. I maintain a very clean environment. I don't trash the building. I'm over Bayland.

I had the pleasure of meeting Phil who went out of his way for my family, and George who helped us secure an apartment. I couldn’t be more thankful for everything they have done and continue to do. I would highly recommend bayland properties.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT RENT OR DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SLUMLORDS! They do ZERO property maintenance/management! They are rude, and have THE WORST customer service I have ever seen or dealt with in my entire life! They do NOTHING for the renters and don’t even bother responding to messages! Not to mention they do nothing to even try and improve themselves!!! PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS OF ANY KIND WITH THESE PEOPLE

Heather Gibson is going to ruin this company. It's honestly almost humorous how immature, unprofessional and child minded she is. She thinks she can/tries to bully tenants. She will continually harass you, even after you tell her to stop. She will have to get the last word in and continue to harass you. I had to file a police report for harrasment as well as I am filing a T2 form with the LTB against Heather and bayland property.

I can mirror alot of the comments and reviews posted here. I would also recommend to other potential tenants to avoid this company at all costs. Give your hard earned money to someone else. Also give your money to a company that cares.
