Really enjoyed working with Marlene on mapping out my financial plan and various scenarios for retirement and streams of income. She was incredibly thorough and the process was designed in a way not to be overwhelming and allowed for time to digest and ask all appropriate questions. My wife and are approaching retirement but had no concrete idea if we could realistically retire within the next year or two while maintaining our current lifestyle. Marlene was terrific in assessing our situation and working through the numbers to give us the short and long term projections. She was also was very helpful with our tax planning as I am self-employed.
I never realized how stressful planning for retirement could be but she certainly helped with that and I have a much better feel for what to expect and different ways to navigate going forward.

Approaching retirement age, my partner and I worked with Marlene to map out a financial plan and we are both very glad we did.
I had a certain amount of "do we have enough" anxiety and thought it would be best to get some professional guidance. Marlene was a joy to work with. She brings a real human element to the process as well as a very thorough financial analysis. She is approachable, easy to talk with and very knowledgeable. I felt that she really heard our needs and concerns and in the end we walked away with a detailed and very practical financial plan for our retirement years.
Basically what she showed us was ' Yes, you have enough and here's how to do it' . Practical withdrawal strategies, minimizing taxes and household cash flow plans. Marlene is fee only and not pushing any investment vehicles or anything of the sort. In the end, she is just a very nice person who has a lot of expertise to share.
If you're starting to ponder your retirement I would highly recommend Buxton Financial. The peace of mind we ended up with was priceless.
