Thank you Dr. Redfern for such a remarkably positive impact on my recovery! I am truly grateful, as are my family and friends.
I highly recommend Ottawa Performance Care (OPC)!

3 years ago I suffered a debilitating concussion. After trying conventional Rehab, I had some slow progress over 2 &1/2 years, and when I hit a plateau, it was far from my baseline. A friend recommended OPC. With the complex and comprehensive assessment and new treatments specifically designed for my needs, in a short time I could feel positive changes happening, and a long sought after, path forward. It's remarkable how much better I am... I have gained so much, and of equal importance, I am maintaining (and building on) those gains.

I was referred to Isaiah Redfern by a couple of resources physio and a chiro for dizziness balance issues and possible concussion. First session was good, he took my history of what I was dealing with 3 falls in June and weakness in my legs as well as left arm weakness & recently lisp and speech issues. Session 2 didn’t go very well, I was feeling frustrated to start off with my ongoing physical disabilities and told him I wasn’t having a good day, then Dr Redfern gave me an exercise to do standing in front of a screen where I was supposed to moved my feet & balance to move icons on a screen in a certain way and I wasn’t doing well, I was really struggling. I was embarrassed by how bad I was doing and I mentioned my left foot was hurting. I had 2 screws and a staple but in my great toe (bunion) Akin and Kalish procedure 16 months ago it is still healing. Then I feel he was abrupt and dismissive towards me & my not being able to accommodate his request he said: you better go get your foot fixed. He cancelled my future appointment I had scheduled and told me up back to chiropractor to fix my surgery foot? I’m wondering if I said something to annoy him as he became a little upset I kind of felt rejected and so things didn’t go well on the second visit. I’m not a young person, I’m over 65 & I have mobility issues right now, I still don’t have a diagnosis and I’m getting more tests from a second neurologist, I also noticed that the office has no other people working there, and no phone service only email. My opinion from my experience wasn’t good this business has some missing elements that make a business work smoothly, ie phone service that is functional and a more professional approach towards the customer.

Update October 22 2025 I was diagnosed with ALS “Lou Gehrig” disease yesterday by Dr Breiner neuro muscular Dr at Civic hospital. Now you know that you were treating someone with a neuro motor disease and you were impolite and telling me to go get my foot healed! I mentioned to Dr Redfern my new speech lisp symptoms I had no idea it was from the ALS. I was trying to get help from many doctors for about 1 year and this now that I will die from it. What a horrific end to a year of trying to get assistance from many areas and professional to help me deal with the balance issues and weakness in my body as well as dizziness. Too bad you were so grumpy with me I had many more people look at me and think I was fine and I knew I wasn’t ok! 😔

I came to Dr Redfern after 4 weeks of struggling with a bad concussion that left me off balance, fatigued and foggy. Right away his suggested diet changes had a quick positive impact. He pinpointed why I was off balance then I started treatment at his office and I did his recommended eye exercises at home. Balance improved almost back to normal within a few weeks. For brain fog he suggested a combination of supplements that I found at a health food store and with time it also improved significantly. After 4 appointments over a span of 4 to 5 weeks I was mostly back to normal and was able to get my quality of life back. My only regret was not finding him and starting my treatment sooner. He is a professional and he will help you with your concussion too!

Life-Changing Relief After Months of Struggle

After suffering a concussion over 5 months ago, I was living with persistent symptoms—brain fog, light sensitivity and constant fatigue. I tried everything: rest, physical therapy, and countless doctor visits. Nothing seemed to help. I had started to lose hope that I would ever feel “normal” again.

A friend who was a patient of Dr. Redfern recommended him, and I am glad I called.

His approach was different—targeted, thoughtful, and tailored specifically to what I was experiencing; and after just one treatment, I felt an incredible difference: my mind felt clear, my energy was restored and light sensitivity started improving. For the first time in months, I felt like myself again.

This treatment gave me back my quality of life—and for that, I am beyond grateful.

If you’re dealing with post-concussion symptoms, Dr. Redfern treatment is a game changer.

My daughter suffered a concussion playing hockey. After 6 weeks, 2 doctor visit, 2 different physios we felt we were getting nowhere. The doctors took a rest and see approach. 1 physio told her she had a neck/back issue and went on to massage her back, the other one specialized in concussions, but we had to go through their stepped methodology, where each step cost $x, felt like a money grab since treatment wasn't until step 3 or 4... Out of frustration, I happened on OPC and Dr. Redfern while googling, boy am I glad I did.

Dr. Redfern spent a good amount of time asking directed questions, after which he told us what he suspected. Then he proved his theory by using specialized equipment that provided a whole bunch of performance metrics. The graphs were pretty clear as to what was going on. He gave her some exercises to do and supplements that would improve her specific condition. 1.5 weeks and 2 more sessions she was completely symptom free and back to sports.

Caring, compassionate, kind, knowledgeable, professional - just some words I would use to describe him. Highly recommend Thank you so much!

My son suffered two concussions within a few weeks of each other playing competitive basketball. After the second concussion during which he was having quite severe symptoms, a friend suggested Dr. Redfern. I contacted him via the online form and heard back within less than 24 hrs. He fit us in within a few days. Best decision we could have made for our son. Dr. Redfern is very knowledgeable, takes the symptoms seriously and understands the drive of an athlete to get back to their sport, safely. He is also honest--at our first visit he was clear "If I cannot fix the problem within 3 appointments I won't keep bringing you back. I will find someone else who can help you". Suffice to say, my son is feeling great and was back in action for basketball finals this spring with no symptoms recurrence, thanks to Dr. Redfern. I cannot recommend him enough--I tell everyone I know with kids in competitive sports. No need to suffer through a concussion without help.

When I came to Dr. Redfern, I could barely walk down the street, I was having seizures and passing out, unable to drive or sleep…you get the idea. I was the sickest in my entire life and less than a year later I am back to myself and no longer need a standing appointment with him. I was able to finish writing my novel, Killer in the Mirror and currently, I am on a 2 week trip in Europe walking around 7km per day, so much more myself and no longer having seizures or passing out. I owe him my life back and I’m honestly beyond words grateful. The services he provides is worth every penny and they do what they can to help you be able to claim it through insurance which I appreciated. I recommend him to everyone with neurological problems or concussion symptoms. Thank you SO MUCH Dr. Redfern!
