I recently completed the Platinum Heavy Equipment and Truck Driving Training at the Transport Training Center of Canada, and I can honestly say it was one of the best investments Iâve ever made. I spent $23,000 on this course, and every dollar went toward building a solid foundation for my career.
The program is structured week by week, which made it easy to follow and allowed me to build my skills progressively. Each week focused on different equipment and techniques, giving us the time to really learn, practice, and improve. I had the chance to train on a grader, backhoe, loader, excavator, and bulldozerâa full lineup of machines youâll actually use in the field. The hands-on training was the real deal and gave me true confidence stepping into the workforce.
I was lucky to learn from some of the best instructors in the industryâDoug Smith, Jeff Cabana, and Raymond (whose last name escapes me, but he was fantastic too!). These guys werenât just teachersâthey were mentors. They brought years of real-world experience, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed. Their support made a huge difference.
I also want to give a huge shoutout to Paige Watson and Hillary Neathercott, two of the best campus managers you could ask for. They were always on their gameâprofessional, responsive, and genuinely eager to help. Emails were answered quickly and clearly, and no question ever felt too small. They were a big part of what made this experience smooth and stress-free.
Of course, no place is perfect. Every training center has its challenges, but nothing you canât handle with the right mindset and a good attitude. Stay focused, show up ready to learn, and youâll walk away with more than just skillsâyouâll walk away with real opportunity.
What really impressed me was the support after training. TTCC offers job placement assistance, career guidance, and strong industry connections to help get your foot in the door and launch your career.
If youâre serious about starting a career in heavy equipment or truck driving, Transport Training Center of Canada is the place to do it. Itâs more than just a courseâitâs a stepping stone to a better future.
Big thanks to everyone at TTCC for helping me get started on this exciting new path! đȘđđ!

Enjoying my time in Ottawa really enjtimg the help from trainer Jeff cabana who has shown me a lot of very good tips and tricks and very easy to learn and understand him and would love to see him back in my class for training because I feel a lot more confident knowing that trainer Jeff is around and is willing and driven to help students become better operators, I would like to know if it would be ever possible to have Jeff cabana back, I really enjoyed my time with Jeff he would always take the time to check on his students to see if everything was ok if you understood. He always brightened up the day by having conversation with everyone to get them exited to be in the pit. With all that being said really enjoying my time here and would love to have trainer Jeff cabana back in Ottawa.

I was trained by Jeffrey Cabana in the Windsor and Ingersol pits with heavy equipment. Jeffrey is magical on the machines and inspired me to try even harder to learn his techniques.
Jeffrey is very personable making it less intimidating to grow and learn what he has already mastered.
It was a pleasure being taught by Jeffrey and a pleasure meeting him.
I cut my training short due to a surgery so I'm looking forward to finishing my remaining 30 hrs. with Jeffrey.
Great guy!

I completed my heavy equipment training last month in windsor and feel I need to mention something about the amazing experience I had there. My trainer, Jeffrey Cabana, managed to jam pack my brain with new techniques and knowledge for future challenges that will help me in my career path massively. Even with the crazy weather we had a couple days, within the small amount of time I was there, it was action packed with new tasks and lessons to be learned. The weather actually gave me more opportunities to learn how to deal with some tricky situations and Jeff was right out there with me guiding me through it right in the muck of it all. It was a great experience and honestly alot of fun. I feel confident for a future where different situations and challenges may arise thanks to Jeff. I now have a vast knowledge of the proper techniques to operate in many different situations, and how to make the proper plan right from the beginning based on a number of factors that Jeff demonstrated and explained thoroughly throughout my course. This all will be crucial to my every procedures and operations. As I said, this course was a great experience, great school, great trainers.

I completed the Heavy Equipment Training at the Transport Training Centres of Canada â London Campus, and Iâm extremely disappointed with the experience.
At the time of enrollment, they clearly stated (both verbally and on their website) that they offer lifetime job assistance. This was one of the main reasons I chose TTCC â I already hold an AZ license, but I wanted to expand my skills and believed this training would help me build a solid career in the heavy equipment field.
Unfortunately, after I finished the training, they stopped responding to emails and provided zero support in terms of job placement or career guidance. The so-called job assistance was completely fake and misleading.
I feel like I wasted both my time and money with this program. If youâre considering taking a course here in hopes of career support afterward, think twice. The training itself may be fine, but donât expect any of the promises about job assistance to be fulfilled.
