Very disappointed in my experience with this firm. Recently had them file my taxes for me. They made a fairly large error that resulted in more then $10,000 additional tax owing. I knew something was wrong and tried to call them to discuss. they were too busy to talk to me. Linda kept telling me just to go review my taxes and it would all make sense. She said she would send me an email to explain it. This never happened. After spending hours going through it myself and spending time on Google trying to understand what was going on I just discovered the problem myself. They were dismissive to me on the phone as if they didn't think it was possible they had made a mistake. They kept telling me to go review and it would make sense. Had I not stuck it out and done the research myself I would have paid more than $10,000 extra in tax that was not necessary.

Terrible experience with this firm. I've been waiting for roughly a month for them to take care of my taxes. I completely understand it's the busy season so had no problem with this. But now there are many issues and errors with the return they're providing. I provided them with a spreadsheet detailing all my expenses for some rental properties. After reviewing my T1 General I noticed that every single property has the wrong value entered for property taxes, insurance, Bank interest and sometimes some of the expense other expenses. None of the values are off by a lot. $50 here $100 there but they're all off. I've asked several times for an explanation as to why this is. They keep telling me they will send me emails to explain this. And will not take the time to review anything over the phone. They are now telling me my taxes are done and I need to pay. But none of the values are correct. I don't want to file taxes that are inaccurate and they won't take the time to explain if there is a reason or if it's a mistake.

I contacted this firm last year to handle our 2023 returns. Once the returns were prepared, I pointed out multiple mistakes that could have cost thousands. The mistakes were corrected on my direction, but they would not address my GRP tax deduction properly, and I had to refile myself to have it resolved with CRA.

Six months later I received correspondence from CRA indicating that Advanth had not included all income on the return. This was when I first spoke to Linda, the CPA I assumed had reviewed my return. It appeared that our file had entirely been handled by a tax assistant. They attempted to hand-wave the issue away, and said that they had explained and corrected the issue with CRA. I then received a reassessment from CRA indicating that we owed nearly $10,000, and the debt was accruing interest. Again, this is because they failed to report income on a slip that they confirmed having received at the time of the return.

Do not go here if you are expecting professional services from a CPA. Chances are, you will get a tax jockey with no accountability. All for 3x the cost of going to H&R block.

To your response: have you checked your emails? I’ve reached out previously, spoken to Linda directly, and indicated there are ongoing issues with the return as recently as this week.

My wife and I are retired professionals who moved in 2024 from Ontario to Saskatchewan. For the past 15 years we relied on the services of a CPA in Ontario to complete our tax returns, hence we needed to find a new one. Our 2024 return is more complicated than usual because we had sizeable capital gains to report as well as the sale of our principal residence for which we needed a capital gains exemption. We spent a lot of time trying to find an available CPA and only located Advanth LLP a few days before the filing deadline. On or first meeting the young lady at Advanth (Jenny) she showed us that she knew her way around CRA reports and she was quick, very helpful and pleasant to deal with. She completed our returns and filed them with CRA within three days.
Although we don't know if CRA will accept these returns as prepared, we simply report that we are very hopeful, and very happy with the prompt and courteous service received from Advanth and especially Jenny.
