The talent is amazing! Totally enjoyed all the flying skills demonstrated today. The only thing that could use improvement is the speaker system. It got little better as the show progressed but it would of been TOTALLY amazing if we could hear all the information they were trying to share.

Doesn't have passenger flights at all to anywhere. With so many troubles on the highways and traffic and construction flights would be a great alternative. Such as to hot spots in BC, or to Ft Mac, GP, Regina, Winnipeg. There would be an awesome amount of potential revenue from all the people who work north, or have to travel often 🙂 so this isn't a one star, this is a suggestion, and a hope!

This airport has had it's ups and downs over the decades and recently it has been more of a downward trend. At times in the past it would host an airshow and have the occasional large flight along with smaller providers.

Still over that period it has slowly trended upwards.

A lot of the buildings are looking tired and it's hard to tell just how many of the businesses are still operating. The facilities at the actual terminal are a bit limited but this is a regional airport.

There are some notable operators out of here such as Buffalo Air which had a television stint for a while and Airspray which is a water bomber outfit.

Sometimes it's a nice spot to take a drive to. You can get fairly close to the runway terminations on the nearby roads.

I enjoyed the flight and landing when I arrived in Red Deer but when I was departing I got there 10 minutes before the plane was departing and they would not let me on. I know that I was suppose to be there one hour before but my ride was stuck in traffic due to construction. The staff did not give me any options so I rented a car and made it to Calgary Airport and Thanks to Air Canada they took the no show off of my flight and I was able to fly back to Toronto on the same flight. Otherwise I would have had to wait until the next day and pay for 2 more tickets to go home. It would have been good customer service to let me know that they put a no show on my flight and could have removed it when they knew I had rented a car and raced to Calgary to catch my flight.

Had an amazing time at the Red Deer Regional Airshow! I’m fairly familiar with the area as my husband flys in and out from here for work. I can’t wait till the next Airshow!!

Two paved runways, formerly CFB Penhold. Note this is Class D, no air traffic controller, but there is usually a FSS during the day. Check current CFS for details. Can be lots of traffic from various schools (from all compass points!) so monitor the radio carefully and ensure you contact as required.

Friendly FSS personnel. Maneuvering surfaces are all in great shape, and there are plenty of amenities in the terminal building (for pilots). The only issue is the distance into Red Deer.
