We called and asked if we could book an appointment because we had several questions regarding cross-border filing (we had a child last year which can make filing a bit more challenging in our situation. My spouse is a PR here but currently resides out of country).
We were told (in a tone via phone) that they do not take appointments.

Silly us, we proceeded with the process, hoping that we would be able to have our questions answered during this time.

We provided the information needed for the process to be completed, as well as our contact information, yet the process became nothing but problematic.

We dealt with Lisa, who unfortunately had poor communication skills and often came across as ignorant in her emails (no phone services were ever used or offered). We were only contacted via email, which made it challenging to explain the circumstances and concerns we had.

It took numerous emails to Lisa to try to find out why there was a delay before we were finally told that some of our documents still needed to be reviewed. Due to the lack of communication, we paid for what documents had been completed, and took the remaining documents to another business.

Because of Antigonish Tax Services and their unwillingness to discuss our concerns, we now face issues with the CRA.

My spouse recently called and asked to speak to someone regarding these issues and how they came about (hoping they would give him the time of day). His call was (eventually) returned from Pat, who was very short with him, and quick to tell him that we were at fault. She did not take the time to discuss our concerns or the issues, and proceeded to accuse us of filing false information. This was followed by an email from Lisa with one of our documents attached, that had the CRA guidelines highlighted, and the document handwritten on (we never received a copy of this document until that moment). We had been well aware of these guidelines and we were trying to get questions answered (thus the reason we asked to sit with someone in the beginning).

Incomplete and incorrect documents, unprofessionalism, and accusations from this business have led to a big mess that my spouse and I now have to sort out.

We have stopped communication with this business and removed their access to our CRA accounts as a precaution.

We do not recommend taking your business here if you have questions, concerns, or challenging matters that have to be dealt with. You will not be given the time of day, and may end up with a big mess to clean up as the result.
