I am forced to leave 1 star but this is a ZERO star review.

I’m blown away by the situation that just happened at our home.

We have used ASPENWORKS in the past.

He has always been good and honest with us.

We have been without heat for a week with our boiler.

Originally we had another local company come out to deal with it because ASPENWORKS didn’t get back to us until three days after my original call.

When he did finally call me back, the work had been completed by the other company.

Our first mistake was not calling ASPENWORKS when our other boiler failed in our second space, but the second company had been so quick to show up the first time, we decided to go with them again, besides, Aspenworks was always so hard to get a hold of.

The part was on back order and we sat without heat for a week waiting on the part.

I decided that we were done and were going back to ASPENWORKS because he had NEVER done us wrong, he was always fair and totally honest.

He told me he would be here Friday, but didn’t give a time. That was fine, we are pretty flexible.

Today, the other company showed up unexpectedly and unannounced with the missing part in hand and ready to work. No communication that it was all set up and ready to go. They just showed up.

As soon as they showed up, I called ASPENWORKS to let him know that issue was figured out and we would still like him to discuss with us a regular preventative maintainable plan with our systems. He could choose to come out here or not but the boiler issue was fixed.

He didn’t answer so I left a voicemail.

My husband assured me that he had another job that he was going to get him to do so it wasn’t a wasted trip for ASPENWORKS.

He did call me back several times but I was out in the garden thinking the voicemail I left would be sufficient enough.

I was wrong.

I’m assuming he didn’t listen to my voicemail and decided to show up anyways. Which is fine. We always overlooked that in the past with him.

So, he shows up and as we were telling him about the boiler, which was now fixed, he heard that the other company was out and his demeanor changed instantly.

He got angry and stormed back to his truck.

“I told you I was coming out Friday!”

As he was storming back to his truck, my husband was trying to tell him about the other issue he wanted to have him look at. Giving him a job to have out here so this wasn’t a wasted trip for him.

Instead of calmly listening to what we were needing his help with, and staying to do the other work, he let his emotions get carried away and acted immaturely and in a way I’ve never seen a stable, grown man act.

He started his truck and drove forward with me having to move out of the way quickly and a chicken almost getting ran over.

Instead of trying to understand the situation he sped out of our driveway.

He will NEVER be invited or recommended by us for the simple fact of this lack of emotional control that I expect grown adults to have.

Instead of doing a job and getting paid for coming out, he lost a customer for good.

A customer who always thought he was fair, honest and did good work. That felt he never overcharged for unnecessary work and did a bang up job. Aside from the lack of response to phone calls on numerous occasions, we were happy with his work. (The lack of response was what initially sent us seeking out the other company).

And yet today, he threw that away because he couldn’t control his emotions.

There is an issue with communication and coordination with these companies in this area, but when faced with the idea that your competition was out to our place, it most certainly shouldn’t turn into what we experienced today.

Called to work on residential boiler. Said he would, then changed his mind and refused. Will never call again.
