I recently moved into one of the buildings in the Brentwood Complex, and I could not be happier. This place is a hidden gem in Midtown Toronto, with units rented for extremely reasonable prices, and, depending on the unit, with move-in incentives that make moving less stressful. What makes this complex stand out? Location is amazing, just to the west of Yonge Street, bordering Deer Park residential area, the always lively Oriole Park, and the Beltline trail perfect for walkers, joggers, and dog owners. So, living here, you are not bordering a major busy traffic artery. It's less than 10 mins from Davisville TTC and 15 mins from St. Clair. On top of that, the complex is beautifully and uniquely landscaped, containing a rose garden, 3 working fountains, well maintained benches, and platforms with muskoka chairs. There is even a convenience store. The units are bigger than average, even by old building standards. My 1 bd rm is 700 sq ft, plus has a giant balcony along the whole living room, which is like having your own back yard. There is truly a lot of storage space, and plenty of daylight, because windows wrap the whole length of the apartment. Appliances are in good shape, and the building is surprisingly quiet - no sounds whatsoever audible from neighbors. When I came for my viewing, I literally knew I wanted to move there. It is an older building, so yes - the kitchen cabinets are dated, the floor is that orangey brown laminate from 1970s, and the hallways and lobby are not super modern (although always impeccably clean). But if you can live with that - you won't regret. Last but not least, the complex is pet friendly. I want to call out the staff I've met so far, they work hard to make this community running well. First of all, Geetani, my leasing agent. Unlike lots of other buildings relying on AI to setup appointments, Geetani was available to speak on the phone, and nudged me to come for a viewing. After hearing my preferences, she recommended the unit that I moved into. Securing the unit and paperwork was pretty seamless, as well as dealing with the overall manager, Eliese. Lastly, my building manager, Armela, was very sweet and helpful as well.

SCAM ALERT!!! Was very excited to go see this place, the pictures online are great and the outdoor spaces are beautiful. The months-free incentives and professionalism over the phone was inviting, as well. However, that changed when it came to the leasing process and the units I was shown. As someone who works in housing, the first unit I was shown and the rental process here is unacceptable. First, the LEASING PROCESS IS ILLEGAL. Asking for a one-month’s deposit via e-transfer to “reserve the unit for 5 days” to complete the rental APPLICATION, is illegal and violates the RTA. Asking for an e-transfer of a large sum of money, plus a key deposit and “administration fee” to submit an application is not only deceptive, it’s illegal. Not to mention, should you decide it’s too sketchy, or your application gets denied, they keep a $130 “administration fee.” This is ILLEGAL. Landlords CANNOT charge administration fees for rental applications, this is also in clear violation of the RTA. The first unit I was shown was clearly damaged and while the tenant had just moved out, there was no plans to fumigate despite obvious bug shells, and no plans to repair the damaged floors or broken stove and fixtures. Just “clean and paint”. Tip: NEVER send a deposit before signing a lease, and if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The people working seem nice enough and are definitely hard-working and dedicated, but the company itself seems negligent at best. I never submit reviews, especially negative ones, but I felt so upset after this viewing and feeling pressured to sign, I didn’t want someone else to fall for this rental trap. Beware of Oshanter and other similar companies.

Awesome buildings and great management, very quiet and piesfull, even tough they are located in the city.
Shehan a rental manager is very polite and hardworking professional, that makes sure the rental possess go's stress free and as smooth as possible.

Living here was the worst experience of my life over a year dealt with major roach problem nothing worked at all. Alan the super tries his best and very friendly however the office management is extremely difficult to deal with and rude. Oshanter is an extremely greedy company that does half a** work and bully you to leave. They purposely damaged my balcony and made it look awful when they were supposed to be improving it. I was doing my part keeping everything extremely clean putting work orders for the things needed to be fixed and they would do everything a horrible job and make it worse . Another example the bathtub deglaze didn’t even sand or seal just painted over everything . Caulking not done properly. Mold and moisture in the walls which they tried to blame my window ac for meanwhile I was talking about complete opposite side of apartment and In washroom. Kitchen not sealed properly open wood. it’s a roach haven. The balcony I did not request it was building maintenance but they did that purposely they continued to bully me while I was suffering with their awful conditions. There was baby bats living In hallway on my floor. Really think twice oshanter what I dealt with you guys should owe me money , I have way more photos and videos as well. I will continue to spread awareness all over online of this awful awful company . Beware moving here good reviews are apart of move in incentive.

I have been a tenant for 2 years in a bachelor and just upgraded to a 1 bedroom and the process was very smooth only because of Shehan at the management office. He is very thorough and took his time with explaining the documents and the process, and calling you to ensure you understand everything, you can tell he cares about the tenants. Shehan was considerate and helpful with the whole moving process as he knows you are under a lot of stress. Excellent Customer Service!!
