This is the 5th year of our pond and most years the water can get a little green during the hottest stretches of summer but a combination of tint, barley, and UV light had helped in the past. This year was different, everything I had tried in the past didn’t make a difference and I was almost at the point of draining the pond and starting from scratch. Thankfully a friend suggested Clearflow Pond Gel and I tried it out. I placed it into my trickle filter and within days I noticed a difference in the clarity of the water and even with all the sun and heat we had it continued to clear up completely.

Anytime I put a new product into the system I’m worried about how it may affect the fish, plants, or biological filter. I monitored and tested the water during the treatment and it remained completely stable the koi didn’t show any signs of stress and in fact spawned during that time. Thanks so much for allowing the pond to be something I’m proud to show off again!

Absolutly recomend their Soil Lynx Granular product for "residental" use.

Let me start with qualifications. I am not a commercial user. I use a reel mower and maintain my 1/2 acre yard at .30 inches (~7.5mm). Due to this, I like to keep my yard flat (not level) but free from bumps and divots. I have a 12.5% grade in parts of my backyard so this has been frustrating since those areas tend to washout after I level. I started my search and stumbled across other products designed for DG but was concerned about permiability since I want the Bermuda grass to grow into and through the leveling material (USGA Top dressing sand). Thats when I stumbled upon the Clearflow website. I have tested out 1 kilo on my yard. Sidenote, it was fun watching my wifes face when I opened a box containing a bag of white powder labled 1 kilo.

I attempted to spray a solution of the granuals mixed in water at first which created a bit of a mess and clogged my Gregson Clark Spreadermate B (commercial lawn application sprayer). This clog was 100% my fault since I was trying to "wing it" given we had a storm coming. I switched to the other application method of broadcasting the crystals over the soil. This worked well as long as you keep track of where you have already broadcast. A little goes a long way. If I did my conversions correctly the documentation suggested that the 1 kilo could cover as much as 3k sqft. I likley over applied the product since my areas of concer only accounted for about 1k sqft.

The product kept channeling to a minimum. It did not prevent it completly in my application but in areas I had complete washout in previous years I experienced very little channeling and relocation of material this year. Considering I was using the product in a way it was not originaly designed for and applied in a pretty unscientific manner I am thrilled.
