I am writing this letter to highly recommend Compass North, President Tony Tilley and Vice President Sonia Crook, as exemplary leaders who have significantly impacted the success of The Mount Community Centre (TMCC).
I had the privilege of working with them as a board member of TMCC during the development of our new strategic plan for 2022-2025, and I can confidently say that their presence and imposed values have acted as a catalyst for the exponential growth of and overall success of TMCC.
Tony and Sonia’s commitment to their role was truly remarkable; their MO (Modus Operandi) was consistently to maintain a 110% standard. What sets them apart, above all else, was their unwavering commitment and loyalty, which has left an unmistakably positive mark on our staff they worked with, and the board they contributed to. Their remarkable skill in meticulous planning, in conjunction with their forward-thinking problem-solving style, stands unparalleled when compared to any of the other strategic planning companies I have ever worked with in my career.
What distinguishes Compass North as a leader is their remarkable ability to not only identify the strengths of those they work with but also to tailor their delegation of authority to align with their individual attributes. They possessed an uncanny understanding of each person’s true capabilities and adapted their leadership style accordingly, which in turn is a win-win. For example, during their work with TMCC, Tony and Sonia recognized the hands-on learning style of each board member and allowed us the freedom to make significant mistakes without hesitation. They never shied away from taking responsibility for those errors during their time with us, creating a safe environment for learning and instilling a strong sense of accountability that continues to inspire our organization to this day. Tony and Sonia naturally empowered board members to learn as much as we could, and to construct our own path to success, all while readily providing the necessary tools for growth and development.
During the past year, we have experienced a considerable employee turnover. In these situations, Tony and Sonia have been the “go to” and steps forward people, willingly embracing responsibilities that extend beyond their designated role. What truly stands out is their ability to become perfectionists in these new roles, showcasing their unwavering dedication and adaptability. Not only do they assume these additional duties, but they also successfully see through projects that fall outside their original scope. All while maintaining their steadfast commitment to their other clients at the same time.Their commitment to tasks and responsibilities consistently exceeded the norm, setting a high standard for all of us to follow, one that seemed impossible but worth working towards.
I wholeheartedly recommend Compass North for their exceptional leadership and mentorship skills but also due to the genuine rarity they represented as the most well-rounded company I know and have ever had the pleasure of working with. They have been an indispensable asset to our organization. I am grateful for the opportunity to work under their guidance, and I am confident that their contributions will continue to propel our organization and others who use their services to new heights.
