Unfortunately I have to add to the negative reviews as our experience was similar to other negative reviews here.
We were also referred to Emily by Profit First Professionals as another reviewer was.
We feel that Emily over promised and under delivered. In short we paid her $285.50 just to find out that her services would cost us $13000/year.
After taking our payment, she was a bit harder to get hold of. After promising to get back to us in about a weeks time, and two weeks of silence, it took an email and a voicemail message to set up a Zoom meeting to meet again. It became apparent to us that we may not get a quality review of our company’s finances as she only accessed our financial information the night before the meeting and never inquired about our P&L statements.
Please be careful before giving your trust and money to Emily.

Emily has been doing my taxes for the last 7 years, my husband and I could not be happier with her services. Every year Emily goes above and beyond for us and tries to educate us on how we can possibly save money or get a better return if we do A,B and C. If I have any questions at all or need advice on something tax or accounting related, Emily will take her time and explain it to me until I understand. As a client of Emily's I never feel like just a number or like she rushed through our file at tax time even though she is very busy as per the season. We used Emily's services for 4 years and each year she was closer and closer to the line. This year she failed to complete our taxes and we are left with the penalties. We knew she was unprofessional and did not feel good about using Compeditive Edge, devil you know I guess.We are now hiring an accounting service to cleanup the mess and get us back on track . Have been advised to make a formal complaint but still likely will have to pay the penalties as we are responsible for the service we use.

I do not recommend Emily or Compeditive Edge business solutions.

Emily has not provided us with the greatest service. I have never worked with such an unprofessional individual, who also just lacks respect for her clients. She was referred to our company by Profit First Professionals. She was extremely unresponsive to all of us (without including a courtesy email that she was away for "meetings" or out of the office/vacation alert), she ruined our professional reputation within the eyes of our staff due to countless errors and, again, unresponsiveness. And towards the end of her time with us, she did not provide a proper off-boarding process. Till now, our staff are still waiting on our tax documents, I have tried calling multiple times (all which go directly to voicemail), and I have sent multiple emails. As previous reviews have stated, when you end the working relationship with Emily, she becomes even harder to get a hold of. I would not recommend her services to anyone, as there is no service worth recommending.

We used Emily for our small company bookkeeping for a few years. Everything was ok up until 2018 our year ends were late and actually missed getting done one year but up until 2018 the books had been completed in a acceptable time. In 2018 she dropped the ball got behind on deadlines and was extremely hard to get ahold of. Our gst was 2 quarters past due along with our year end. She made little effort to meet any deadlines. When I decided to change bookkeepers it took my over a month to hear back from her and receive Our books back from her. When we did get them they were almost a full six months behind . She had been charging us Monthly for her services so I expected the work to be completed. I asked Emily for a refund on the work that was not completed and had to have redone by another bookkeeper. She agreed to a partial refund for work not being completed. However she completely ignored me after that phone call and two and half months later after leaving numerous voicemails and unreturned emails. I doubt I will ever see the refund she agreed to.
