We stayed there on a monthly charge for work and the manager Michelle charged an extra $1,000 to my credit card without my knowledge as she had my credit card number for reserving the room. I have tried numerous times to contact her to resolve this matter but she has not returned any of my calls or emails. I highly recommend not staying here as you will be sorry with the additional credit card charges. She tells you one price and charges another. Worst experience ever.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hay River Suites. The place is well managed. The extra space was nice and the unit was clean. It's simple, but was great for us. The unit was relatively well equipped. Note the pans are damaged Teflon pans. They had a kettle! Sadly, it leaked, but it did work. Wifi worked well for email. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a little squishy for the three of us, but we made it work. ||||What we didn't like: our room was roasting hot and we could not get it cool enough at night. We should have asked for a fan or something. They have A/C unit downstairs and an air exchange unit, but we couldn't cool down the upstairs bedroom without freezing our son who slept downstairs. We tried leaving the bedroom window open, but the noise from the other tenants (who were pretty good, but left for work early with big, loud work trucks) and the trains woke us up and we were still hot. Happily, they do not let people smoke in the units, but there were a bunch of chainsmokers around us and the suites all have chairs for smoking outside the units. ||||Laundry hours are from 3 pm to 11 pm. There are only a couple of machines. ||||BBQ area looked great, but we didn't use it. The bugs were terrible in Hay River. The mosquitos and bull flies were too much for us to be outside for any duration. Yes, we live in Alaska, but the NWT has an entirely different level of bugs. It sounds like it was an especially bad bug year.

Before this trip I had stayed in other hotels in Hay River, NWT. After spending a week here I will definitely be back. I stayed in a suite that had the kitchen, livingroom/dining room, and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. ||||I had full control of the heat (yes unfortunately a locked thermostat was an issue when I stayed at another hotel in Hay River about a year and a half ago). The building is well constructed; the room is warm and very little outside sound travels into the room. ||||There is a laundry facility that I accessed and the cost was very reasonable. ||||The staff was very friendly and accommodating. A great place to stay!!

Stayed here for one night. Our unit consisted of a kitchenette, bathroom and utility room on the first floor, while the bedroom was on the second floor. The property was very clean and well maintained. There were TV’s and a desk on both levels. The kitchen seemed to be well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. There was a dining room table. My dislikes would include the equipment in the utility room was noisy when in use. The WiFi did not work well and that was troublesome. Most importantly, I am a “night traveller” and having to go downstairs to go was not enjoyable. I likely won’t stay here again. Note no food is served at this motel. The staff were great.

Really good!
The place is clean and cosy enough. Lot of pillow. There is no noise, it's so calm. The staff is really great, if you need something they will help you with nice smile. The laundry it's 4$ for wash 22 minutes in warm, 19 minutes if cold delicate, and the dryer is 3$ 45 minutes, well my clothes was clean enough so could be ok.
I recommend!

Stayed at the Hay River Suites for two weeks isolation and was very pleased with my stay! Very friendly and helpful staff! Michelle at the front was so accommodating and helpful and went out of her way to assist me. The suite I was in (suite 28) was very clean and quite spacious for a solo traveller or a couple. Having the loft bedroom made it seem much larger. The kitchen area was small but well stocked - with a toaster oven, toaster, crockpot, kettle. The fridge is tiny with an even smaller freezer portion, but I made it work! They are upgrading their wifi as I write this - so speed should increase. Very handy location with a quick walk to the nearby SuperA store. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Very clean and updated suites. Rooms were large with a sleeping loft and a nice kitchen/living room below. Owners were very accommodating and made sure that you felt at home. There is also an on site laundromat with reasonable prices and soap available. Highly recommend it over the rest of Hay rivers offerings. 10/10 would stay again

This is a somewhat unusual property. It has a number of townhouse style units that have a mix of overnight, weekly and monthly occupants. It has a large parking lot, and good access from the main highway running through Hay River. The room is equipped with a full kitchen and living room. The sleeping quarters are on the upper level, and the bed is comfortable. The bedroom is quite small, and care should be exercised as the bed is very close to the wall and drawers. The ceiling is also a little low for taller people. The front desk staff were very friendly. The internet was reasonably fast and fairly stable. I would have no problems staying here again.
