We had a 2hr assessment of our home with Shawn to determine and remedy any allergens in our home that could be contributing to our son's health issues. It was an incredibly indepth appointment where we learned a tremendous amount of VERY valuable information and the solutions to remedy the problems. Shawn is a wealth of knowledge and excellent teacher. Because this is what part of the assessment is - he teaches you what you probably don't know about the air quality in your home.
I think everyone needs this knowledge whether you have issues or not (asthma etc). He is friendly, encouraging, gives you the solutions that are feasible and attainable and he is very generous with his time.
I highly recommend Indoor Air Quality Ottawa.Very very happy with our experience.
(Make sure you have a pen and paper for the assessment and take notes. The information he provides is vast and valuable.)

We contacted Indoor Air Quality Ottawa due to issues in our basement, specifically with allergens - turned out to be mold and moisture issues. IAQ made the whole process much less stressful than I was anticipating, from the initial contact, site visit, report and follow-up.

The technicians depth of knowledge was immediately evident. Moreover, he was excellent at communicating the issues we were facing in terms I could understand.

The price for the report initially seemed steep, as I'd been assuming this would be a Yes/No lab report. This was very much not the case. The highly detailed 20 plus page report outlined not only the lab results but multiple strategies for ameliorating the issues, with clear step by step instructions, diagrams and photos. It discussed what I needed to remove, what protections I would need to wear when conducting the removals and what strategies i needed to employ to protect the rest of the hose and family during the process.

Not being in a position to afford a professional remediation company I had to do the removal and remediation myself. The high quality explanation of the problem, clear outlines of the needed cleansing and repair procedures as well as the the inspectors easy manner and willingness to answer any and all questions I posed to him allowed me the confidence to tackle and successfully carry out the work needed.

I cannot speak highly enough about Indoor Air Qualities professionalism, knowledge and ongoing support.
