This is not just a negative review. This is a public warning.

I am a resident in a building managed by JLR Condo Specialist Inc, specifically by property manager Lisa, and what I’ve witnessed is nothing short of appalling.

After multiple vehicles were broken into inside our underground, fob-access-only parking garage, Lisa’s response wasn’t concern — it was indifference. No building-wide alert. No apology. No action plan. Just cold deflection and an alarming refusal to take ownership.

Worse still, I was the one who contacted the police and filed the report. I gathered the information and forwarded it to the investigating officer — not management. Lisa and her team took credit for something they didn’t do, while refusing to communicate directly with the residents affected.

When I raised the issue respectfully and transparently on the community platform to warn my neighbors — Lisa responded by silencing me. She revoked my posting privileges and shut me down.

Read that again. Instead of protecting residents, she protected herself.
Instead of showing leadership, she chose censorship.

Her tone throughout every email has been dismissive, patronizing, and deeply unprofessional. I was told to “contact my landlord” as if a serious security breach in common areas is not her problem. As if resident safety is optional. As if our voices don’t matter.

This isn’t just bad property management — this is a textbook case of:

Negligence

Deflection

Silencing those who speak up

Complete failure to serve or protect the community they’re paid to manage

If you're a condo board or developer considering JLR Condo Specialist Inc, hear me now:
They will not protect your residents. They will not take accountability. They will not act unless forced. And when confronted, they will try to shut you up.

Unfortunately, our experience with this condo management company has been consistently unprofessional. On multiple occasions, the manager Lisa has abruptly hung up on unit owners during legitimate concerns being raised — which is not only disrespectful but unacceptable from a company tasked with managing our homes. Condo owners deserve basic courtesy and communication, not to be dismissed or silenced. This behavior reflects a serious lack of accountability and customer service standards. If you’re a board considering hiring this company — think twice.

Called JLR on the 2nd of January 2025 with a couple question placed in the voicemail and received a call back shortly after on the same date. The lady called back from JLR is Sheri and she provided answers to my enquires. I appreciate her efficiency and professionalism. I viewed units in the building 7825 and 7805, 71 Street - Urban Village. I am very impressed with all the common areas for the cleanliness and the amenities are nice and tidy. Great job JLR!!! I am so looking forward to make this place my home. Also many thanks to all the board members for their hard work and dedication.

Be extremely wary of JLR. I owned a condo for almost 10 years and once JLR took over there was nothing but rules to the point that we couldn’t take it anymore. When I bought they told me it was a pet friendly building. (almost everyone had a cat or dog) Last year we were sent a list of bylaws (not from the city but from the condo board) stating that pets were no longer allowed on condo property. This wasn’t voted on and we had owned our dog for 4+ years already. My girlfriend called Lisa to confirm that we could let our dog out on the grass (we were on the first floor and picked up after our dog) and she was extremely rude and condescending and and told her no. She expressed how she was not comfortable walking our dog off condo property late at night or in extreme weather (considering Edmonton gets to -40 in the winter) and she laughed on the phone and told her this wasn’t her problem and that it was a “city bylaw” which was a complete lie. Almost daily residents received a new set of rules and they gave us no notice when maintenance needed to be done in our units and parkades. In the summer we received a notice saying we must be home on a Wednesday between 9 am and 1pm so they could check toilets and fire systems. Stated in the letter from JLR “If arrangements are not made, access will be arranged with a locksmith and all costs will be charged back to the suite owner.” They gave us 11 days notice and most people work during the day on a Wednesday?! We made arrangements to be home and they missed us. We called Lisa and she hung up on us and after we called back she said they would come back the next day. Previously we had issues with our neighbours and we had called and expressed what was going on and that we wanted to keep things anonymous and they contacted the owners and told them word for word what we said making matters worse. Personally I would never own a property managed by JLR ever again.

Hello,
I am a tenant in a condo in northern Edmonton. Our family has reached for assistance with JLR management to help find a solution with our entrance in and out of the underground garage. We were put in touch with Lisa. She was extremely rude and unprofessional who made us feel as though we were inconveniencing her by calling. I asked her to put us in contact with someone else which she refused. It’s unfortunate that this is a sort of treatment one can receive when contacting JLR management in Edmonton.

I really held back on leaving a review, hoping maybe this company would change. They might be the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. The whole company is rude and doesn’t even listen. I would highly recommend avoiding any building owned or managed by JLR. This company should be investigated for so many things.
