Kluane Cabins - Haines Junction, YT

Our stay at Kluane Cabins was phenomenal. It was our first time in the Yukon and at Kluane National Park. The location of these cabins was perfect. Roger was a very welcoming host and helped us get settled into our accommodation. The view from our cabin was so nice, and really made us feel immersed in the nature there. The cabin was also decorated very tastefully. We were a short walk away from the main washrooms/showers and also had our own private outhouse very close to our cabin. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation close to the park!

Roger is a wonderful host who attentively and promptly answered all our many questions, and provided a cozy and clean cabin for us to use as a base for hiking in the area.

Considering that the property is off grid, the infrastructure is not bad: flush toilets, hot showers, and practically unlimited water (although all of the above were external to the cabin), and an equipped kitchen with a gas stove.

The beds were comfortable (although a bit short for me; I'm 189cm) and the duvets were warm.

Given how late the sun sets in summer, it would have been convenient to have proper blackout blinds to keep the sun out in the evenings and mornings, but during our stay the rooms were pretty bright most of the night.

It's important to realize that the area is absolutely crawling with mosquitos. It's not really possible to hang out outside, as the swarm will immediately descend. It's impeccable to wear long sleeves at all times and be covered in DEET 24/7 to not turn into a pin cushion (and even then bites are inevitable).

The nearest shop is in Haines Junction, which is not extremely well equipped, so it's useful to shop on the way (ideally in Whitehorse). There is, however, a well stocked bakery "Village Bakery" in Haines Junction that serves bread, cake, pastry, coffee, and even beer for desperate times!

This place is amazing. We had the Chalet cabin and the views are unmatched. You can see hundreds of kilometers into Kluane park and if you have binoculars you can even spot a few hikers on King's Throne. Beautiful place, owned by wonderful people. They made our stay comfortable. The cabins are clean and the beds are very comfy. Book this place!

We loved every minute of our stay at dog-friendly Kluane Cabins. The clean, bright yet cozy cabins are situated each in their own area, immersing you in the peacefulness of the forest and (nearby) mountain surroundings. The off grid cabins are well-equipped with water jugs and everything you’d need in the kitchenette (including teas and locally roasted ground coffee). There is no fridge so if needed do bring a cooler and ice packs. Gracious hosts Roger and Fiona are warm, friendly and very pleasant to communicate with. Thoughtful hosts; they kindly refroze our ice packs part way through the stay. The bed was very comfy, as are the chairs on the front deck where you can take it all in. ||The outhouses are the nicest I’ve seen (and smelled): decorated and even with a vanity. There is also a central washhouse with 2 private bathrooms with hot showers. It's a small detail but I appreciated the naturally scented and eco-friendly soaps used throughout the property. ||The cabins are a scenic 20 min drive from the village of Haines Junction, and right across the road from the entrance to the Kathleen Lake beach and trail area. Can’t wait to get back!|

Great cabin in an amazing setting. Trails on the property and Kathleen Lake across the road, had a great ski, walk and saw a Dipper on the near by creek! The dog also had a great time. The kitchenette had all we needed and we had ample wood and water supplied (winter conditions). There are several cabins but they are situated in a way you feel pretty isolated and the view from the King's Throne was fantastic.

Roger is the man! We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Fiona but I'm sure she is just as lovely. We booked part of our honeymoon here and from first contact until we arrived the communication was excellent. Views of Kings Throne were amazing. Cabin was very clean and welcoming. This place is super quiet and relaxing. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an authentic yukon experience.

Very comfortable cabin with a great view of King's Throne. Roger is a great host. Very friendly. Very nicely appointed outhouses. They have hooked up water in each outhouse. There is a very clean washhouse with flush toilets and showers. Enjoy being out of cell range. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Kluane National Park.
