I've been working with Erik and Anita for the last 2 years, and so far I found their service quite good. I've had a series of really bad accountants years previous to this, so I was looking and appreciative of professionalism and accuracy. I had a sudden life change and had to move out of the country right at tax time, and Erik was patient while he waited for my submission, gently reminding me and keeping me up to date.
Because I was overseas I claimed a few unusual receipts, and Erik gave me a full heads up that I might be audited. He walked me through the pros and cons, and I decided to go for it and submit the receipts anyways. Sure enough, I was audited. Anita took over and was extremely communicative, detailed, and fully helpful. She called the CRA for me a couple of times because it's difficult doing it internationally.
The only reason why I didn't give them a full five stars, is because during this process I got a divorce, and some of the communication about how to deal with a divorce through taxes was fuzzy and sometimes I felt a little left out of the picture because I was international. I'm lucky my ex and I are on good terms, and she filled me in where Pi didn't.
But other than that, I'm quite thankful for working with them:)

I’ve been dealing with Pi Business Solutions (Pi) since around 2017 - I was referred by a colleague. Pi generally has good rates and a fairly fast turnaround service - I even referred a friend to them.
They are very frugal. At first they would send documents over gmail. Not over a secure site because they wanted to save money on software licenses in order to provide low rates.
Later they began to request that we set up our own secure site such as drop box or Google docs. Not major, but a little different from my experience with other firms.
My husband and I separated in 2021 and this is where things went very wrong.
My husband and I were both owners of our company and equally entitled to the information.
Despite multiple requests for Pi to keep me in the loop regarding (my) company related correspondence - and several assurances that I would be - unless I directly followed up regarding status - I was not included.
For instance, I wouldn’t know when documents were filed or returned. When my company was dissolved, I was not provided with the information or certificate because it “slipped their mind”.
For personal taxes, rather than having us both apply for CCB - Pi only submitted me as the claimant- 3 years later, I unexpectedly owe CRA $9,000 because my ex-husband and his accountant (who was also my accountant!) decided to retro-actively claim child benefits.
No heads up was provided to me and no explanation of the process was given until I owed dues and asked why.
I put up with YEARS of lack of professionalism and disrespect because I thought it in my best interest to remain with the firm that had a clear account history of both my ex-husband and myself.
If you are a male - you will certainly receive preferential treatment.
If you are female, especially a divorced one - I’d advise you to steer clear of this company.
The owner has been through his own divorce and seems to have a strong bias against women. Even before I separated he would “mansplain” and talk about his own divorce.
Assistant Anita is equally unprofessional; totally deeming.
My accountant, Greg, is definitely a smart guy but let me down many times. So. Here I am. A most frustrated ex-client. Advising people to find a different firm if you value communication and professionalism.

Having a corporation it is important to have a good relationship with your accountant and I can say we’ve been with them for about 6 years & have benefited tremendously by their knowledgeable tax services. Doris is a wonderful, well organized and very talented bookkeeper that takes a load off my busy schedule.
