I had the honor of assisting Coach Gus with an amazing group of 12-year-old girls in the recent tournament in, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they achieved. Even though we took second place, these girls played with a passion and determination that truly exemplified the heart of soccer. Without the luxury of extra substitutes like other teams, our girls gave everything they had on the field, playing real soccer and showing resilience despite difficult conditions. I especially want to congratulate my daughter, who stepped into the net for the first time ever. She showed incredible courage and performed beyond expectations, allowing only one goal in the final game. Her passion for the game and dedication touched my heart, and I couldn’t be more proud. Although it was a house league tournament, these girls faced challenges like tough weather, short rosters, and even some questionable refereeing decisions, yet they never gave up. They left everything on the field, and in my heart, they are champions. To the blue team: your effort, determination, and sportsmanship were inspiring. I know next season, with the same heart and hard work, we’ll come back stronger and aim for that first-place finish. Thank you to Coach Gus and the entire team for an unforgettable experience. This isn’t just a game—it’s a testament to what these girls can achieve when they give their all. Keep pushing, keep striving, and let’s get ready for next season. Blue team all the way!⚽️⚽️⚽️
