After using SmartOne for a few months, I can confidently say this is one of the worst pieces of technology I have ever used, alongside the Commax hardware. Multiple issues, having to replace the drained door-lock 3 times in 5 months, poor app functionality and usage for the end user, old technology with Zigbee 1.2 – this system is truly a disaster. I am running most Smart Home devices on a Pi5 and Home Assistant and it works flawlessly, it is truly a shame we cannot use our own door-lock/security systems, as any solution (Ring, Google, August, etc.,) would be far more reliable and function better than SmartOne “solutions”.

The application exhibits unreliability, logging out when multiple users are connected to the condo suite, even with distinct email addresses. Moreover, it rapidly depletes the entryway door’s 8 AA batteries, resulting in frequent replacements and added expenses. Additionally, SmartOne receives monthly payments from the condo maintenance fee, which, considering its subpar performance, is deemed excessively priced at over $12,000 during the closing.

Just moved into a new condo with Smart One technology. The system does not allow you to automatically switch from heat to cool or cool to heat by simply setting the temperature you want in the unit. It also does not allow you to set hourly program of temperature (we like to sleep in cooler temperature). These are simple functions that a $75 dollar programmable thermostat can do. Not very “smart” technology.
