One of favourite thrift stores in Victoria area (a 25-35 minute #95 bus ride from downtown), I always find something .

Two room carpets, one $18! the other $45, both in excellent condition .

Great selection of clothing. I have found designer labels here for $6-9 on regular basis.

Nice customer service, and gets busy on weekends.

Worth a visit!

Treasure hunting at its finest!

Every time I visit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul thrift store, I walk away feeling like I’ve just uncovered a hidden gem—and today was no exception! I found a vintage-style yellow Stitz tripod in excellent condition for a quarter of the price I saw listed online. It was such an exciting and unexpected score, and honestly, that kind of joy is exactly why I keep coming back.

The store itself is always tidy and welcoming, with items well-organized and easy to browse. It’s one of those places where you can take your time and genuinely enjoy the hunt for something special. And I always do—whether it’s unique homeware, vintage finds, or, in this case, photography gear!

The staff are consistently lovely—so kind, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell there’s a real sense of community here. Their warm energy adds a lot to the experience and makes you want to come back just to say hello.

Parking is a breeze, which is a huge bonus for a thrift store. And the hours are so convenient—open Monday through Saturday, which makes popping in during a lunch break or weekend errand run very doable.

I’m so grateful for shops like this. Not only are they a sustainable alternative to shopping new, but they’re also supporting meaningful work in the community. Thank you to the whole team at St. Vincent de Paul for doing what you do—and for giving treasure hunters like me a reason to smile every visit!

I’ll definitely be back (probably sooner than I should admit 😉)!

Unfortunately the pricing here has gotten INSANE. The staff acknowledges that they're looking items up on eBay, but they are somehow still charging more than they would ever be on that platform. They make the usual excuses of "inflation" etc. but there are many thrift stores out there not charging anywhere near the crazy prices they are here. The Salvation Army across the road is a much better bet with nicer quality items and better prices. They've clearly lost sight of what should matter at this store, and that's offering donated goods to the public at a reasonable price for everyone's benefit, so they can help support their mission programs. I honestly can't see this store lasting with the new Salvation Army opening up in Langford in the near future. Do better Vinnie's!

Wow! It changed since I last visited - for the good!

Better organization, clearer separation of offerings, really clear COVID-protocals: appreciated that.

I got #HugoBoss, #Armani, #Zegna - lightly-worn - for, like $10. I've also gotten an like-new American Tourister suitcase for $6 and a backpack for $3.

A good selection of goods available.

Staff are are friendly and my money goes to a good cause.

They have capacity limits due to COVID and masks are required; if you don't have one, they sell hospital-type masks for $1.

There is plenty of parking available and a busstop less than a block away.

My experience had a total lack of customer service. The older woman who rang me through the register was incredibly rude to me, passive aggressive, and refused to sell me an item by accusing me of attempting to alter the price, which I absolutely hadn’t. She could have chosen to be kind but instead immediately treated me with zero respect and was overall mean to the point where I left the store. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I was very impressed to see, upon arrival, that masks were mandatory for customers as well as employees. They were also providing masks for those without one. Thank you for enforcing this safety measure!
Good selection of items displayed neatly on the shelves. Store clean and tidy. Well organized. Always easy to find something to bring home!
