The company responded quickly to my request for a post-renovation evaluation, and scheduled the inspection within only a few days. The information provided by Verdatech is very helpful. Nicole was the only positive part of dealing with this company. Started off by losing my booking after they bought out the company I used originally. Then, the energy advisor was uncommunicative and made errors submitting documentation, leading to additional unnecessary costs on my side. Had I not spent additional time following up with Nicole, after trying to get info from the advisor, the documentation wouldn't have been submitted as required to NRCan.

I found VerdaTech at one of the Home and Reno shows in Edmonton and was able to line up an appointment for the Greener Homes Program. They were able to show me where my issues were in my home and provided me with very good detailed report. They do only have so much information about the program itself so there is still some stumbling there to sort out.
They were also able to work with my schedule. Only sticking point was the travel cost for me as I'm out of city limits. If you can find someone else in your area looking for an Energy quote - it helps to lower the travel fee cost.

Very unhappy with how this company dumps their administrative work on others to save costs. Constantly demanding of other clients and companies to do their paperwork for them.

Other energy audit companies do not do this and this one has been beligerent, even abusive, when questioned about it.

These folks are given absolutely everything needed by the solar contractor, to fill out their own administrative paperwork and still insist on shoving that cost onto the contractor rather than doing it themselves.

The information they ask for is largely not required by any agency or government program and what is a requirement has already been provided to them by the solar contractor with all the details they need.

They don't want to serve their clients, when they can force other people to do their work.

As energy auditors they should have the basic skills to read documents and fill in their own forms, we certainly do, but it is not ethical to push your work onto other companies and the client.

Suggest anyone shopping for an energy auditor to look elsewhere. Other companies do a much better job dealing with clients and with contractors.

The auditor arrived promptly and began to systematically go through the various exterior and interior components as part of the audit assessment. He was careful not to disturb or damage things and was very respectful of some of our timing / privacy constraints as a results of some unexpected working from home that had to adapter around. We really appreciated that!
