Mid Island Cabinets helped us through several renovations - a modern kitchen including custom cabinets, quartz countertops, custom fireplace shelving surround and four bathroom renovations. Jacqui Williamson designed and walked us through the process including meeting us at plumbing stores, sourcing tile and countertop. The installers, especially Tyler, were skilled and efficient.

We are thrilled with the final result and although we spent more than we budgeted, the price increases were not surprising and well worth it. The finished result was beyond our expectations. We are already planning the next project which we hope will include Jacqui and Tyler.

Mid Island cabinets was involved in our major house renovation four years ago. We had them design, create, and install a custom kitchen, three bathrooms and the fireplace mantle shelving unit. We had a very good (read 5 star) experience with all the staff, from the show room personnel to the installers and especially the sales representative and designer. We received excellent advice, prompt service, great communication, and the products have withstood the test of time so far. As a testament to our satisfaction with Mid Island Cabinets, we just recently hired them back to create a custom built in book shelf specifically designed for an existing 'nook'. I described what I wanted and they created it to match the existing kitchen and fireplace. From first contact to finished installation took 2 months to the day. Very impressive. The result is exactly what we wanted and the workspace was left clean and tidy. I can't praise the customer service and workmanship highly enough. Keep up the good work, guys!

Absolutely fantastic! Robert Wiebe (who is no longer there) has helped make my kitchen dreams come to life, and I haven't even seen the finished product yet! That's how excited I am lol. He's friendly, incredibly helpful. He took my project on like it was his own. If he didn't think something would "flow", he would tell me! He was honest, not pushy in any way, allowed me to feel perfectly comfortable with my budget, and my ideas, while bringing in perfect finishing touches that brought it all home.

Robert even had me meet him at the Mid Island Cabinets in Nanaimo,(I was shopping in Parksville), just after regular business hours, just to show me options and different displays, I felt totally VIP. LOL. It was awesome. He worked around my schedule, which I don't know how that affected his, but it was really great and helpful for me and I very much appreciated his time.

I highly recommend Mid Island Cabinets. What else I appreciated, was the because they actually build the product themselves, I can get him back to build future cabinetry to match what is being built now. I don't have the budget for it for this project, but when I do, I know I can go back and have them build the same style for full height cabinets in another room. The start of my kitchen experience has been great and I trust them to bring it to fruition!

I would say that as much as I love my new space, too many weird glitches happened that required fixing. Somehow, the plan I signed off on, and paid for, was not submitted to the fabricators. The old, drafted plan, was mistakenly submitted. This meant that when it was all assembled, the following issues arose:

-Cabinet for refrigerator was wrong size
-Island was longer than anticipated, and encroached into living room open space
-Kitchen perimeter cabinets were too short, and didn't make it to my specified dimension, even though they came back to re-measure once my dividing wall was removed.

Nothing could be done about the island, or perimeter, that I will live with.
The fridge cabinet was adjusted but unfortunately it looks like it was an after thought.
I have no idea if the price I paid reflected what I received.
It's pretty (of course I love my colour selection, and style design)

The after sales was good. They did do their best to fix the fridge cabinet, and other small tasks that were not acceptable.

As it was my first kitchen design ever, I didn't realize that when the drawers look tall on the outside, they are very short on the inside.

I love my new kitchen. I didn't love it so much that I would run back for another kitchen, I would shop around and see what else other suppliers provide.

There are hurdles no matter where you will shop. I would use them again though, I have no bad taste in my mouth. Being in the service and building industry, I know mistakes happen - just the larger issues were concerning to me as they were actually big mistakes and could have had drastic problems.

We are so happy with our new kitchen! We worked with Brent to design and create a kitchen that would work well for what we needed. The quality of all the finishes and the detailed orientated installer, Bob, did an impeccable job. There were a few adjustments after installation and the crew came out the next day to make sure we were happy with everything.
Brent was great at explaining the process, prompting us to make decision and ordering items when we need to. If you are looking at getting your kitchen renovated/new build I would highly suggest using Mid Island Cabinets!

The minute we walked into the showroom in Parksville a friendly face came to greet us and we had lots of questions. Jacqui was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable in the kitchen products. We got lots of information and great ideas from Jacqui. When we were about to start the design she really knew what I wanted and how to design it. Jacqui is always there to please the customer. The quality of the product was beautiful and durable. The cabinet installer did a great job on installing the kitchen everything fit together, he was professional. When something in my kitchen needed adjusting and/or fixing Jacqui was quick to respond to bring either Frank or Evan out to adjust or fix. It was a very quick turn around. The team was really friendly and professional and they really knew what they were doing. I'm very happy with my kitchen and it was because of Jacqui's great team.

First of all i was talked out of the color I picked for cabinets. I wanted dark grey and ended up with brown with some grey. There were several delays and when installation happened several items were missing. The installer was great. We had issues with flaws in the island and sink countertops. They replaced the island one but said the scratch in the other one was within standards. I'm not sure how any scratch on a brand new item is ok but they refused to even give a discount on it. Also wasn't informed that these counters scratch easily. The island was supposed to cover area where old one was removed and didn't so had to hire someone to put tile in exposed areas at my expense. I wouldn't recommend or reuse this company.
